Today I am sharing the first of many photos that I took in Houston. When I was planning my trip, I knew I wanted to go to many of the great murals they have there. I wish we had as many here! I wore this gorgeous two piece gingham skirt and top at the Biscuit Paint Wall. I just love this gingham get up because its so fun and playful…and totally reminds me of what Dorothy would wear. I just need some red shoes. 🙂
I recently just started to love gingham and have added a couple of pieces to my wardrobe. It is like preppy plaid (which as a Canadian I seem to have quite a bit of)!
Can we just take a minute and appreciate how awesome this mural is!?! It was painted by Houston-based artist Sebastien “Mr. D” Boileau of Eyeful Art & Design. You really can’t look at this colourful mural and not smile.
I paired this gorgeous gingham two piece set with a brown clutch that I have been using all summer long and a pair of denim wedges that also have gotten a lot of use. I really love wedges because they are so comfy (and easy to walk in). I need to start looking for a good pair of wedged boots for the fall and winter. Speaking of fall…the leaves have really started to turn colour this past week with the warm weather. I am not ready for fall!
The real star of this photo is the lovely lady behind the camera, who is the gorgeous Maritere of Maritere Rice Photography. She is amazing, super talented and so much fun. I was so happy I got to shoot with her. Thanks to Carrie for connecting us. 🙂

When you used to be a figure skater, you know how to jump. Maritere enjoyed getting me to jump in all the photos we took together in Houston. 🙂

I hope you all have a great day. I work tonight but I hope to stay extra busy today to try and get stuff done and maybe even get outside since it is so nice.
I want to try and bring some great content for you during the school year and I am planning all of that. More food (and food videos) are in the works but if you have any other suggestions let me know in the comments down below. 🙂
