Today’s blog post is part two of my road trip to Cape Kiwanda in Oregon last December. Part 1 was sharing the Oregon waterfalls that we visited in the Columbia River Gorge. Pop over to check out that post if you haven’t already.
I had not been to the Oregon coast for about 10 years, so I jumped on the opportunity to go to Cape Kiwanda (which is at Pacific City) when I was asked. It was kind of a last minute trip. We rented a home by the beach, which was perfect.
My friend invited a few of his photography friends to join us there and it ended up being a really great couple of days…I made so many new friends. 🙂 My favourite part of the whole trip was having a fire (and eating Pop Tarts) at the beach in the evening.
Sunrise and sunset are so beautiful at Cape Kiwanda, so I suggest that you make sure you are at the beach during these times. You can drive vehicles on the beach and have fires, which was fun.
I have to thank my mom for letting me borrow her brand new Subaru, which only had 200 km on it, to take there. I brought it back with 1700 km and full of sand. Sorry mom! 🙂
I hope you enjoy this video. The Oregon coastline is a beautiful place and this video allows you to see it a bit better than with just photos.
I just got back last night, so I have a bunch of catch-up to do and then I am heading away again on Thursday. 🙂
