Nutella French Toast with Fresh Fruit

I was raised on Nutella and it is still one of my favourite spreads. In fact, I have been known to just eat it by the spoonful. This recipe is an easy way to dress up french toast. You can add fresh fruit or even whipped cream, icing sugar or maple syrup if you like, too. Perfect for a weekend breakfast or “breakfast for dinner”.

Nutella French Toast with Fresh Fruit
  1. sliced french bread
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 1/4 cup heavy cream
  4. 5 large eggs
  5. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  6. 1 1/2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  7. 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  8. 1 cup Nutella
  9. Butter
  10. Fruit (banana and raspberries used here)
  1. 1. Mix together milk, cream, eggs, vanilla, granulated sugar and cinnamon. Pour into a shallow dish. Dip each side of bread into egg mixture allowing a few seconds for it to soak up some the mixture.
  2. 2. Melt a bit of butter in a pan and cook bread until golden, butter pan again, flip to opposite side and cook until golden.
  3. 3. Spread nutella between two pieces of the french toasts and serve topped with fresh fruit.
