At my house, having friends over to watch the game or to just hang out isn’t too formal and is often last minute. Often they just show up…probably because they know I will have food! I know some big eaters, so I usually start off by making a huge vegetable platter with a homemade dip. This delicious creamy avocado and spinach dip has been a family favourite for years and it is always a huge hit. You have got to try it!
Eat More Vegetables.
You can’t watch the big game with just vegetables and dip, so I will pull some frozen Red Baron pizzas out of the freezer. My brother can eat a whole pizza plus more in one sitting, so they don’t last long. My favourite is the Red Baron Brick Oven Cheese Trio. Since they just take minutes to cook, you can make them several times throughout the game, so you always have warm pizza. Everyone loves pizza!
While I am fond of baking, having a frozen dessert like this delicious Edwards turtle pie, is handy. You will be left with just crumbs…literally! I will also cut up some fruit or melon to have with it. You have got to get those servings of fruit and vegetables in somehow. As for the game, it really doesn’t matter who wins or loses because it is a great way to spend time together regardless.
So if your friends are like mine and just show up at your place, it is good to be prepared. Head to Walmart to pick up your vegetables, creamy avocado and spinach dip ingredients plus several Red Baron pizzas for game day.
