Can you believe it is March already? Signs of spring are everywhere and Easter is just around the corner. I thought that I would share some tips and ideas for pulling off an inexpensive and easy Easter party for your family and friends. Easter is the perfect eggs-cuse to party!
Handmade decorations are easy and very inexpensive. The tissue paper flowers that I made for the table background took about 5 minutes each to make and cost less than $1 each. I mixed them in with some honeycomb decorations from the dollar store to create a colourful display.
I spray painted and covered ugly black folding chairs that my parents had in their garage to add to the colourful theme. Every chair is a different colour. I will share this project another day because I love how they turned out. I am way more crafty than I thought! 🙂
Pie makes everybody happy!
Frozen pies make a great party dessert because they are tasty and so easy! Mrs. Smith’s pies taste just like they are homemade. My dad loved the cherry pie and he is a pie critic!
Edwards pies have a delicious cookie crust and with flavours like Georgia Pecan and Turtle Creme, you won’t leave a crumb. You can serve these pies as is or use them to create a dessert.
When you see white platters, bowls and cake stands on sale, grab them because they are a great investment. They will go with any colour scheme or party theme. Cake stands, even if you aren’t putting cake on them, are perfect for adding dimension to a party table.
If you want to add even more height, layer one cake stand on top of another or place a bowl on top of a cake stand for a tiered server. Get creative with your tablescape!

Another fun and easy way to add colour to your Easter party is to purchase beverages that coordinate with your party. On most beverages, the plastic label is very easy to remove. You can use craft materials, such as doilies and ribbon to decorate the bottles for a special touch.
Don’t worry about all the bottles being the same. Having a variety of sizes and colours adds interest to your table. Don’t forget to pick up plastic cups that coordinate with your theme.
To add colour and interest to your Easter party table, layer colourful tea towels over the table instead of a table cloth. You don’t really want to go out and buy a special table cloth for your party that you will only use once a year. Get creative with what you have instead of buying something new.
The added bonus is that you can make the tea towels work on any size and shape of table. Also, look around the house for side tables and desks to use. Once they are covered, no one will know.
A great dessert doesn’t have to take a lot of time or effort. These Cherry Pie Cheesecake Cups literally take 15 minutes to make. They look adorable, taste amazing and are the perfect size so that you have room to try ALL the desserts. 🙂

- 1 Pkg. cream cheese

Everyone loves bite-sized snacks at a party. Make several finger food appetizers appetizers for your Easter party and don’t forget to make a vegetable and dip platter. Everyone loves vegetables! ❤
Every great party starts the same way. IT STARTS WITH A LIST! Begin a week early and make lists of recipes, food and decorations. Plan to buy materials for decorations early and purchase fresh food the day prior. I bought most of my food at Walmart and I picked up my decoration materials at the dollar store and craft store.
Don’t forget to ask for help with the Easter party preparations. Delegate to your family…that is what they are for! 🙂
