Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

I have a few habits which result in me “stressing out” far too often. I take on too much, I am a perfectionist and I don’t enjoy having a lot on my to-do list. As as result, I find that I am always “on” and need to take some actions to keep me balanced.  In today’s blog post I am going to share Bella’s seven ways to chill out after a stressful week.

1 – Get Moving!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

When you are stressed, sometimes exercise is the last thing on your mind. I find that exercise, especially running, totally really relaxes me. I don’t know if it is the rhythm, the time to think or the fresh air…but it totally works at de-stressing me. The bonus is that it also energizes me, allowing me to get more done in a day.

If you are too tired for that much activity, stretching is also very helpful for relieving stress, too.  ๐Ÿ™‚

2 – You are my Cup of Tea!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

Tea is my comfort drink. It is the one thing that I can drink day after day and never get tired of it. In the summer months I go for a iced cold brew tea with lemon and in the cooler months, a nice cup of Earl Grey with milk makes me pretty happy.  Sitting down with a cup of tea (whether cold or warm), really relaxes me.

There are so many great teas that taste so good and even have benefits to them! What is your favourite tea?

Oh girl, you gotta just chill out for like two seconds!  ๐Ÿ™‚

3 – Oil Up, Buttercup!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

I use essential oils all the time. My favourite essential oils are citrus based because I find that they not only calm me, but make me feel energized and happy.  A peppermint and eucalyptus oil mix is amazing at relieving headaches and de-stressing.  In the evening I diffuse oils in my bedroom and they not only make my room smell great, but they also help me sleep better.

4 – A Scoop of Happiness!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

It is always ice-cream o’clock somewhere!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

Sometimes the day just calls for ice cream. My favorite flavour is Hรคagen-Dazsยฎ Butter Pecan and I just adore the sweet, nutty flavour it has.  โค  Ice cream is an indulgent treat that you can enjoy and forget about what is causing you stress. Make sure you enjoy responsibly and don’t over indulge!

It is a good idea to keep a pint (or three) on hand at all times.   I know it is not proper, but I claim the pint as my own by eating straight out of it. I can’t be the only one that does this! I find that it keeps my brother from eating it all before I get it.   ๐Ÿ™‚ What is your favourite flavour of Hรคagen-Dazs ice cream?

5 – Escape with a Movie!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

There is no better way to escape than to watch a movie!  Whether it is a comedy, drama or thriller, movies have a way to making you forget what is stressing you out. I hands-down prefer to watch a movie at home instead of in the theater. I enjoy wearing my comfy clothes, curling up in my favourite blanket and decompressing.

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

Right now you can get a free movie night from Redboxยฎ when you buy any two Hรคagen-Dazs products at your local Walmart. You just buy two Hรคagen-Dazs products, text โ€œRedboxโ€ to 35350 and submit your receipt. Then…you can enjoy a free movie with the promo code provided!  I โค free stuff!

6 – Don’t Agonize, Organize!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

This may sound absolutely crazy, but planning and organizing really relaxes me and helps me to chill out. One of my favourite activities is to spend time on Pinterest browsing, pinning and organizing my boards.  Who needs therapy when you can organize instead?  ๐Ÿ™‚

7 – Because You Deserve it!

Seven Ways to Chill Out After a Stressful Day

Lastly, sometimes you need to pamper yourself a bit. You will find that you really need to take care of yourself first, especially when you have had a stressful and hectic week. Giving myself a manicure or pedicure is a great way for me to focus on me. I find that when I am stressed I will pick at my cuticles, but if I have a fresh manicure I don’t do it…so I am painting my nails all the time to save my cuticles!

Stressed spelled backwards is desserts.

There you have it…Bella’s seven ways to chill out after a stressful week.  Try one or try them all. Success is guaranteed. To be prepared for your next stressful week, don’t forget to pick up a pint of Hรคagen-Dazs ice cream and everything else you will need to chill out at your local Walmart store.  ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Personally I try my BEST to avoid stress and being the Mother to an active and kid with his own 9 year old mind, and business owner at times stress just jumps out. But, I have learned that 1. Stress makes you old and unhealthy. Much like your list I find that riding my bike, and being active DOES to de-stress and relax. I’m.also a Christian, and it took a long time for me to be able to pray and just leave it with God. But my stars, do I feel 100% lighter.

Lol, I try not to depend on ice cream, I have a friend who use to do that, and we’ll let’s just say she’s working of 30 lbs.

I did enjoy this piece. ?
