From hiking, kayaking, biking, and more Northern Nevada has a little bit of everything for the outdoor adventure lover, and recently, I was lucky enough to experience it. You can check out my 7 spots to check out in Northern Nevada blog for some great inspiration for your next trip!
Our Northern Nevada trip started in Reno – Known as the Biggest Little City in the World. It’s located in the beautiful north-west region in the state of Nevada, right at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
Reno is a great place to situate yourself if you’re looking for both city and adventure on your trip. It’s an easy little drive to Lake Tahoe or out to Carson Valley for the day. Then of course, the city is waiting for you at night! It’s the perfect way to get the best of both worlds. Everything is about a 45-minute scenic drive from Reno.
Reno has changed so much in the last couple of years in a really good way. They made enhancements to the waterfront and I loved seeing all the Burning Man art around the city. If you are like me and not a gambler, you will find more non-gambling hotels which are family friendly.
I put together a vlog with the highlights of my trip to Northern Nevada. You can check out my Nevada trip vlog here >>>>
Northern Nevada is such a great place full of culture. Burning Man is a huge festival/temporary community event that takes place here and people come from all over the world to go to it. Around Reno you can find some of the Burning Man art but it is actually placed all through the state.

I was there for 4 days and it was enough time to touch on several activities. However, I really want to go back and spend more time hiking, kayaking and enjoying all the local outdoor activities. The weather there is great year round, so I need to try to make that happen soon.
Some fun Nevada facts (cause you never know when this info might come in handy):
