Prepare apple mixture: Peel and dice apples. Toss with 2 tablespoons of light brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
Mix batter: In another large bowl, whisk Bisquick mix, remaining brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add milk and vanilla extract. Mix until combined into a batter.

Gluten-free option: Use a gluten-free baking mix (try this one here) for a celiac-friendly version.
Dairy-free twist: Swap almond milk or coconut milk for regular milk and use dairy-free margarine instead of butter.
Nutty crunch: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the top of this Bisquick apple cake before baking for added texture and flavor.

Freezer: For longer storage, wrap the cooled cobbler tightly in foil or plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Thaw: To thaw, transfer the frozen cobbler to the refrigerator overnight or until thawed completely.
Reheat: For a quick warm-up, place a portion in a ramekin and heat in an air fryer at 330°F for 3 to 4 minutes, ensuring it’s heated through and crispy on top.
Top Tips
Choose the right apples: Opt for firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for a cobbler with a balanced texture and flavor.
Even distribution: When adding the batter and apples to the pan, ensure they’re evenly distributed for consistent baking.
Watch the top: Keep an eye on the cobbler while baking; if the top browns too quickly, cover it loosely with foil to prevent over-browning.
Serve warm: Enjoy the cobbler fresh out of the oven for the best taste and texture, especially when paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
