What You Need for a Homemade Ferrero Rocher Christmas Tree
All you need for this festive, edible tree are the chocolates and some basic craft supplies from your local craft store. Try Amazon, Michael’s or Hobby Lobby, or any craft stores in your neighbourhood or online.
Along with the chocolates, you need a paper mache cone (I used 4″ cones), hot glue and a hot glue gun, a pair of scissors, and some red ribbon. If you’re keen on crafting, you might already have all of those. And then you can begin making this lovely centerpiece on the festive table, as your holiday craft project.
All of those items should be easy enough to find. But if you can’t find the cone for this DIY Christmas decoration, you could use something else like Styrofoam cones or else make your own cone with some cardboard or similar.
You can also use glue dots instead of a glue gun, especially if kids are going to be making these candy trees and are too young to be handling a hot glue gun. I like these glue dots.
How to Make a Ferrero Rocher Tree DIY
Once you know how to make candy Christmas trees, you will want to make plenty of these. It is the easiest Christmas craft project! They are great gifts for the holiday season – the time of year where we are focused on choosing the perfect gift. So how exactly do you make a chocolate Christmas tree?
Well, the first thing you need to do is heat up your glue gun. Check all the Ferrero Rocher to make sure they’re all snugly wrapped. If any seem to be coming loose, you can glue them back into the paper cups.
Now put some hot glue on the bottom of one of the candies and stick it to the tree shape cone or whatever you’re using as your mould. Repeat with the rest of the candies until your Ferrero Rocher candy tree is complete, working from the base of the cone to the top.
When you get to the top of this holiday craft, make a little hold in the bottom of the candy using a skewer or similar, and add some glue around the outside of this hole. Press the candy down firmly on top of the Ferrero Rocher candy tree.
Make a bow with the ribbon and glue it on top of the candy Christmas tree. Your easy and festive edible Christmas gift is now complete!

Because Ferrero Rocher chocolates are round in shape, you might be able to see some of the cone beneath it. To hide this, you can either fluff out the wrappers to hide it or else paint it green before you start to stick the chocolate truffles on to it.
A tied red ribbon on top adds a lovely festive touch and of course this is a very creative way to gift chocolate. Another idea would be adding a Christmas star shape on top and you can cut out your own from a piece of paper and make it either white or yellow. You could even glue some gold or silver glitter to it for a Christmassy touch, or maybe green and red.
Homemade Ferrero Rocher Christmas Tree
Ingredients
- 16 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, per tree
- 1 4" paper mache cone
- red ribbon
- hot glue gun
- hot glue
- scissors
Instructions
- Preheat the hot glue gun.
- Keep all of the Ferrero Rocher Candies in their wrappers and paper cups. If any of the candies feel like they are loose and coming off of the paper cup, lightly glue them back into the paper cups.
- Apply a dot of hot glue to the bottom side of a Ferrero Rocher candy. Adhere the candy to the base of the tree form.
- Continue gluing the candies around the tree form eventually working your way up to the top.
- For the candy that goes on the very top, use a skewer to poke a small hole in the bottom of the candy. Add a little circle of hot glue around the outside of that hole. Place the candy on the pointy tip of the tree form, pressing down as far as needed.
- Create a bow with the red ribbon. Add a small dot of glue on the back of the bow and adhere to the top of the candy tree.
