  • 1 Box strawberry jello 3 Ounce box, such as Strawberry Jell-O Gelatin Dessert
  • 1 Cup water boiling
  • ½ Cup vodka such as Western Son Original Vodka, chilled
  • ½ Cup lemonade cold
  • ¼ Teaspoon lemon extract
  • whipped cream or whipped topping, for garnish, optional
  • 9 Slices lemon for garnish, optional
  • 9 Slices strawberry for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • In a small, heatproof bowl (or 2-cup measuring cup), whisk together boiling water and strawberry gelatin until completely dissolved.
  • Add chilled vodka, cold lemonade, and lemon extract. Whisk until fully combined.
  • Pour prepared gelatin into 2-ounce shot glasses. Refrigerate for 4 hours, or until set.
  • Top with whipped cream, a lemon, and a strawberry slice, and insert a cut straw**, if desired.

Notes

Use Boiling Water: To make sure that the strawberry gelatin dissolves completely, use water that is boiling. This will guarantee that your jello shots have a smooth and even texture.
Chill Your Vodka: Before adding your vodka to the jello mixture, make sure it's well-chilled. This not only helps to give your jello shots a refreshing, cold kick but also helps the jello to set faster.
Prepare in Advance: Remember that jello takes time to set, even in small shot glasses. Make sure to prepare these strawberry jello shots at least 4 hours before you plan to serve them. They will take at least 3 hours to fully set. I place the shots on a baking sheet or in a muffin tin to keep stationary until set.
