Tiramisu French toast casserole is a weekend breakfast recipe made with Texas toast that everyone will rave about. An overnight French toast breakfast dish is a great idea, since you can just finish it off in the morning. The baked French toast is sweet and rich and served with a sweet cream spread.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Loaf Texas toast
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 Cup heavy cream
  • 1 Tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar 
  • 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. instant coffee powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa powder

Sweet Cream Spread 

Garnish

  • 1/2 Cup strawberries fresh and sliced

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, add eggs, heavy cream, vanilla, sugar, brown sugar, nutmeg, and ½ Tbsp. coffee powder. Whisk well 
  • Cut bread slices in half diagonally to make triangles. Arrange bread in a 3 quart casserole dish.  
  • Pour egg mixture over the bread and let soak for at least 1 hour, or overnight. Cover and place into the fridge until ready to cook. Then, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 
  • Place french toast into the oven on the center rack and bake for 45 minutes.
  • While the french toast is baking, prepare the sweet cream spread. Add all ingredients into a medium mixing bowl or stand mixer and beat on high speed for 1 minute.
  • Remove french toast from the oven.  Add a scoop of the sweet cream over the center of the toast while it is still hot. Sprinkle the top with cocoa powder, remaining instant coffee, and powdered sugar. 
  • Garnish with strawberry slices.
