Ingredients

  • 1 Pound green beans  French
  • 1 Strips bacon
  • 2 Tablespoon butter
  • 2 Tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon rosemary dried
  • 1/2 Teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 Tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place bacon onto a baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake the bacon at 350 for approx 15 minutes or until almost cooked, but not yet crispy.
  • Take bacon out of the oven and set aside.
  • While the bacon is cooking, season a large pot of water generously with salt and bring the water to a boil.
  • When the water comes to a boil, add in the green beans. Cook the beans for approx 5 minutes until they are almost tender.
  • Remove the green beans from the boiling water and immediately put them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • In a small bowl melt together the butter, maple syrup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and red pepper flakes.
  • Gently dry the green beans off with a paper towel, or lint free clean kitchen towel.
  • Pour the melted butter mixture over the green beans and toss to coat.
  • Squeeze the ½ lemon over the top of the green beans and toss to coat.
  • Increase the oven heat to 450 degrees F.
  • Take a small bundle of green beans, maybe 8 to 10 at a time and wrap the center of the bundle with a strip of the bacon. You can secure the end with a toothpick.
  • Place the bundle onto a baking sheet.
  • Once you have wrapped all of the green beans, drizzle any leftover butter mixture from the green bean bowl over the top of the bundles.
  • Bake the green beans for approx 15 minutes or until the bacon and green beans have a nice roasted color.
