Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  • Cut open the hot dog buns lengthwise, but don’t cut them all the way through.
  • Air fry the buns in the air fryer basket for about 2 minutes or until lightly toasted. Take the buns out of the air fryer and set aside.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce inside each toasted bun.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the tomato sauce in the buns.
  • Cook the buns for another 3 minutes or until mozzarella is golden.
  • Put the hot dogs inside the buns, add more shredded mozzarella on top of the hot dogs and then add the sliced olives.
  • Cook for 3 minutes more or until the cheese is slightly golden and bubbly.
  • Take the hot dogs out of the air fryer.
  • Drizzle the hot dogs with ketchup and mustard. Add any other toppings you want, like diced onions, tomatoes or pickles.

Notes

Don't cut the hot dog buns all the way through: Leave some bread in place so you can open them like you'd open a book!
Keep an eye on them: Different air fryer models have different cooking times, so keep an eye on these while they're cooking.
Don't forget the napkins! These pizza style hot dogs can be a bit messy to eat.
