Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Pour the melted butter into a 9-inch square baking pan. Set aside.
  • Peel and dice the apples.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the apples with 2 tablespoons of light brown sugar. Set aside.
  • Whisk the Bisquick mix, remaining brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  • Add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix until all ingredients are combined and you have a batter.
  • Pour the batter into the baking pan on top of the butter. Don’t mix the batter with the butter.
  • Evenly add the apples on top of the mixture - again, don’t mix.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the apples are softened to your liking. If the top of the cobbler is browning too fast, cover with aluminum foil.
  • Allow the cobbler to cool for 5 minutes and then serve hot with ice cream.

Notes

Choose the right apples: Opt for firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for a cobbler with a balanced texture and flavor.
Even distribution: When adding the batter and apples to the pan, ensure they're evenly distributed for consistent baking.
Watch the top: Keep an eye on the cobbler while baking; if the top browns too quickly, cover it loosely with foil to prevent over-browning.
Serve warm: Enjoy the cobbler fresh out of the oven for the best taste and texture, especially when paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
