Instructions

  • Line a 9 x 13-inch baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set aside.
  • Melt your chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave the chocolate for 45 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval until it is completely melted.
  • Use a spoon to spread about a teaspoon of chocolate over the top of half the wafer cookies.
  • Press the remaining cookies on top of the chocolate, creating 14 thick wafer cookies.
  • Dip each wafer cookie in the melted chocolate, using a spoon to ensure they are completely covered in chocolate.
  • Once dipped and covered, put each homemade Kit Kat bar on the baking sheet.
  • Let the bars set in the fridge for an hour or in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Notes

Cover them evenly: Make sure that your Kit Kats are completely covered in melted chocolate. I like to use a spoon to spread it along the sides to ensure they're evenly coated.
Speedy setting: You can refrigerate them for an hour to set or, if you don't want to wait that long to taste one, pop them in the freezer for half an hour instead!
Excess chocolate: When dipping these, allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing on the baking sheet to set. They'll look neater this way.
Enjoy frozen: You can serve these frozen for a refreshing treat!
