Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 yellow onion medium, thinly sliced
  • 1 Package Hawaiian rolls 16 Ounces
  • 10 Slices bacon cooked
  • 1 Pound turkey deli, thinly sliced or shredded leftover turkey
  • 6 Slices white cheddar cheese
  • 3 Teaspoons maple syrup
  • 2 Teaspoons dried onion minced
  • 1 Teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 2 Teaspoons parsley fresh, minced
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, add 2 tablespoons of the melted butter and the sliced onions. Sauté until caramelized.
  • Slice your sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise and place the bottom half into your baking dish.
  • Add the bacon in an even layer on top of the bottom rolls.
  • Next, add a layer of the turkey (shredded leftover turkey or deli-sliced turkey), followed by the caramelized onions and finally the cheese.
  • Place the top bun layer back onto the sliders.
  • Mix together the melted butter, maple syrup, dried onion and poppy seeds. Generously brush across the tops of the slider buns.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the sliders are cooked through and the cheese is melted.
  • Optional: Put the cooked sliders under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes to brown the top of the rolls.
  • Garnish the tops of the warm sliders with the fresh minced parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Make them your way: Feel free to change up the rolls, the cheese, the seasonings, or even the turkey!
Check for doneness: These are done when the cheese is melted and the sliders are cooked through. Mine took 17 minutes, so check after 15 in case yours are done.
Broil the tops: I like to broil them to get the tops crisp and golden brown. Broiling is optional but good!
