Servings: 12 mini waffles

Ingredients

Instructions

  • If the puff pastry sheet is not thawed, thaw it according to directions on the box.
  • Lightly flour a surface and roll the puff pastry dough into 9 x 12-inch rectangle.
  • Cut the 3-inch dough squares.
  • Preheat the waffle iron.
  • Spray your waffle iron with baking spray or use a mixture of oil and butter.
  • Once the waffle iron reaches the right temperature, add one dough square and cook for 6 or 7 minutes.
  • Carefully transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Repeat for all other dough pieces and then serve with your preferred toppings.

Notes

Chill the dough: Keep the raw dough squares in the refrigerator until you're ready to cook them, especially if your kitchen is hot. This ensures a nice, flaky result.
Double up or save half: A box of puff pastry usually comes with 2 sheets so you can either make double the amount or save one sheet for another time.
Preheat the waffle iron: Make sure the waffle iron is hot (and greased) before you add a puff pastry square.
