Keyword: Crockpot, slow cooker

Ingredients

Optional Garnishes:

  • parmesan cheese freshly shredded
  • basil, parsley or oregano freshly chopped

Instructions

  • Add the frozen meatballs to your slow cooker.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3 to 5 hours or until the meatballs are hot in the center.
  • Stir to mix and then serve hot with parmesan cheese and/or chopped herbs if liked.

Notes

If serving as a meal: If you're having the meatballs with noodles or mashed potatoes as a full meal, you might want to have more sauce, so add another small or regular can of tomato sauce to the mixture.
Watch the salt levels: I recommend choosing a low sodium tomato sauce, as the meatballs can be salty. It’s best to add salt (only if needed) at the end of cooking, especially if you're using regular tomato sauce, in case the dish doesn't need extra salt.
If using fresh homemade meatballs: The cooking time might be nearer to 4 to 6 hours if you’re using fresh meatballs rather than frozen (already cooked) ones. To make sure they’re done, check the internal temperature is at least 160°F.
