Ingredients

Instructions

  • Cook the ground beef, onions and garlic together in a pan on the stove until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any grease.
  • Add the beef to the slow cooker, then add all the vegetables.
  • Pour in the broth, tomatoes and tomato paste.
  • Sprinkle the flour and beef bouillon over the stew and stir in well.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Sprinkle with parsley before serving.

Notes

Thicken gradually: If the stew is too thin after cooking, mix a little flour or cornstarch with water and stir it into the stew. Let it cook for an additional 30 minutes to thicken.
Adjust seasonings: Taste the stew before serving and add salt and pepper as needed. You can also add additional herbs or spices based on your preference.
Let it rest: After cooking, let the stew sit for a few minutes. This helps the flavors meld together and improves the overall taste.
Brown the meat: For extra flavor, brown the ground beef in the pan before adding it to the slow cooker. This caramelizes the meat and enhances the stew’s richness.
Cut vegetables uniformly: Dice the potatoes and carrots into similar-sized pieces to ensure they cook evenly and have a consistent texture.
