Ingredients

  • 1 watermelon small, in ½-inch thick slices
  • 1 golden melon small, in ½-inch thick slices
  • 1 Pint blueberries fresh

Instructions

  • Cut 3-inch stars from the watermelon.
  • Cut 2-inch stars from the golden melon.
  • Thread 8 blueberries onto each bamboo skewer.
  • Top each skewer with a golden melon star and then a watermelon star.
  • Keep chilled until serving.

Notes

Use firm fruit: Firmer melon slices hold their shape better when cut and skewered.
Chill before serving: Cold fruit tastes extra refreshing on hot days. You might like to put the serving tray over ice to help keep them cool.
Make ahead: These can be prepared a few hours in advance and stored in the fridge.
Dry the fruit: Pat slices dry before cutting to make them easier to handle.
Use short skewers for kids: Smaller sticks are easier for little hands to manage.
