Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 Ounces blackberries fresh
  • ½ Cup blackberry jam or preserves
  • 1 Cup cherry juice chilled
  • 1 Cup white grape juice chilled
  • 1 Cup cranberry cocktail chilled
  • 1 Cup longan juice reserved from the canned longan
  • 8 Cups ginger ale chilled
  • 2 Cans longan fruit in syrup 2 x 20-Ounce cans
  • 12 Ounces blueberries frozen
  • dry ice optional

Instructions

  • Drain the longan and reserve the juice. Set both aside.
  • Pour the blackberries into the bottom of a large pitcher. Macerate the blackberries using a long wooden spoon.
  • Add the blackberry preserves/jam and mix into the macerated berries.
  • Pour in the cherry juice, white grape juice, cranberry cocktail juice, and reserved longan juice, mix well.
  • Pour in the ginger ale and give a light stir.
  • To make the eyeballs, place one frozen blueberry inside of one longan.
  • Serve in the pitcher, in a punch bowl or in individual glasses, with the eyeballs.

Notes

Add eyeballs last: They look best when added right before serving.
Use cold juice: Keep everything chilled so the punch stays fizzy.
Stir gently: Mix just enough to blend without flattening the ginger ale.
Serve in clear containers: A glass punch bowl shows off the spooky effect.
