Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon lavender syrup or to taste
  • ½ Teaspoon matcha ceremonial grade or similar high quality matcha
  • ½ Cup oat milk
  • ½ Cup water filtered

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder with ½ cup of hot water (140°F is best).
  • Using your matcha whisk, whisk the matcha and water together. Don’t whisk in a circular motion but in an up and down motion. You want to create tiny bubbles in the matcha.
  • Mix the lavender syrup into the oat milk with a milk frother.
  • Pour the prepared matcha into a mug and top it with your frothed milk.
  • Sprinkle a tiny bit of matcha on top for a garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Water temperature: Hot water at 140°F works best. This is hot enough for the matcha to dissolve but not so hot it scorches it or negatively impacts the flavor.
Use a bamboo whisk: I prefer a bamboo whisk over a plastic whisk for matcha. It helps mix the matcha better and you won't end up with a grainy texture.
Use high quality matcha: Choose something good quality for the best flavor.
