Label the jar: It's important to label the jar with the soup mix ingredients and instructions to make the soup at a later date.
Increase shelf life: Add an oxygen absorber (you can get those here) to the minestrone soup mix in the jar to extend its shelf life. Oxygen absorbers are those little packages that say “do not eat” on them, and they work by absorbing moisture and oxygen, helping prevent mold and spoilage.
Get everything you need: Before you begin, make sure you have printable labels, a pint-size wide mouth mason jar and some butcher's twine.
Gift-giving: These make cute gifts! So, make some extra for friends and family who enjoy cooking.
