Starbucks Copycat Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
This iced drink brings together espresso, sweet brown sugar syrup and creamy oatmilk for a refreshing twist on your usual coffee routine. It's easy to make at home and just as good as the original. It's great for any time of day.
Prepare the brown sugar syrup. In a small pot over medium heat combine the water, brown sugar, vanilla, and the cinnamon stick.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved and thickened. Remove from heat and transfer to a mason jar. You can refrigerate it for up to a week.
Once you are ready to prepare the espresso drink, fill a shaker with a cup of ice. Add the espresso and the brown sugar simple syrup and vigorously shake.
Fill a glass with the remaining 1 cup ice and pour the iced coffee over it. Top with the milk and serve.
Notes
Use strong espresso: A bold brew balances the sweetness. Shake well: Vigorous shaking creates a smooth, foamy texture. Chill the syrup: Let it cool before using to prevent melting the ice. Double the syrup: Make extra and keep it in the fridge for later drinks.
