Servings: 10 shots
- 1 Box Jell-O cherry flavour, 3.5 Oz.
- 1 Cup water boiling
- 1/2 Cup whiskey Fireball cinnamon whiskey
- 1/2 Cup water cold
- food dye gel in black
Combine the Jell-O and hot water in a medium mixing bowl and stir until the Jell-O has dissolved fully.
Add the Fireball and cold water. Stir well.
Pour half of the Jell-O mixture into a pourable measuring cup or another bowl.
To one of the bowls/containers add the black food dye and stir well.
Line a cookie sheet with the 10 shot cups.
Fill the cups about half full of the red Jell-O and chill for about an hour or until set.
Fill the cup the rest of the way with the black Jell-O mixture and chill for another hour or until set.
Place the lids on the top, serve.
It’s ok if it’s not perfectly half as far as separating the Jell-O goes. I just eyeball it. This will just mean one color layer will be bigger or smaller than the other. Nobody at your Halloween celebration will mind.
Don’t overfill the cups as it’s hard to get them to and from the fridge that way. Plus, when placing the lid on, it can squish into the Jell-O if they’re too full.
Don’t add more than ¾ cup liquor to your shots. Over ½ a cup is pushing it, but the more alcohol you add, the less the Jell-O will set up.
I just used my pourable glass measuring cup to pour them straight into the cups without any spills. It’s the easiest way to do it, from what I’ve found, and it's also easier to work with cups than make syringe shots.
