Ever wondered which pups are considered the most dangerous? Maybe you’re curious about how much a dog’s personality is affected by its genes or how it’s raised. This list of breeds some folks consider scary came from talking to dog owners, and some of these breeds are even banned in certain places. But remember, with the right training, love and lots of socializing, even a breed with a reputation for being tough can become a sweet and loyal friend. The truth is, that these dangerous dog breeds often get a bad rap. Sure, they might have some traits that could make them dangerous, but they can also be super-loving companions.

Tosa Inu

The Tosa Inu is banned in 10 countries for being extremely dangerous. They were bred to be Japanese fighting dogs and can weigh up to 200 pounds.
Maremma Shepherd
These beautiful fluffy white dogs are born sheep protectors and are considered extremely dangerous to own, especially if you’re not an experienced breeder.
Rottweiler
Rottweilers or “rotties” are from Germany and are often touted as one of the most dangerous dog breeds because of their high jaw strength. That means they have a very strong grip if you’re ever bitten by one.
Pit Bull
Pit Bulls get a lot of flack for being a dangerous breed. While some Pit Bulls are calm and docile, this breed is commonly excluded from allowable breeds by landlords across the United States.
Dalmatian
Dalmatians have a reputation for being fiercely loyal—with emphasis on the fierce. These former hunting dogs are also known to be aggressive and hostile when they feel protective.
German Shepherd
There’s a reason German Shepherds make such good police dogs. They’re attentive, loyal, and protective. However, if you’re not who a German Shepherd is loyal to, you could have a problem.
Great Dane
While Great Danes are actually known for being calm and gentle despite their stature, it’s their size that lands them on this list. Even a well-meaning Great Dane can leave damage.
American Bulldog
While the British Bulldog is short, squat, slobbery, and silly, the American Bulldog can be somewhat dangerous. They pack on the muscle on their smaller frame, and they’re dangerous when they get defensive—almost 3.5% of fatal dog attacks were from American Bulldogs.
Siberian Huskie
Huskies don’t just look like wolves—they also behave a bit like them. They have incredible survival skills that can push them to the edge, and they have to be well-trained to avoid being dangerous.
Bullmastiff
Bullmastiffs are stocky and strong, and while they don’t tend to attack people often, when they do get provoked, it can be quite severe.

I own a Husky and in all honest, he is the most loving, affectionate, amazing dog. Huskys are NOT mean at all. They like to be part of a pack (family) and trust me when I say that once one comes into you life it will forever change it. They are smart, vocal and very protective of their families.
awww sounds like a great dog!
