Instagrammable Spots in LA – Photo Locations in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is an Instagrammer’s paradise. Home to content creators, celebrities, creatives, and Instagram influencers themselves, Los Angeles is like an adult amusement park. Hop from one funky mural to the next, hang out at vibrantly picturesque diners, or even just walk down one of its many iconic streets to all the photo locations in Los Angeles. There’s a photo opportunity almost everywhere you look! Here are the most instagrammable spots in LA, photoshoot locations, and best places to take pictures!

Hollywood Sign

Was it even a trip to LA if you didn’t snap a pic of the Hollywood sign? I think not! While you can see the sign from many parts of Los Angeles, I’ve got my favourite photo spots that I’m dying to share. This hot spot is one of the most popular Instagram spots. Check out the Google Maps links for more details.

The View from Griffith Park

From the Griffith Observatory parking lot, hop on the Mt. Hollywood Trail, and you’ll be in for some perfect Hollywood Sign photo photoshoot locations. After a bend, you’ll get a gorgeous view of Griffith Park and an even more spectacular view of the Hollywood Sign. This is a great place for a first time visitor to check out.

If you want an extra adventurous and bird’s eye view of the Hollywood Sign, book a helicopter ride, grab your camera, and get ready for some incredible photos of the Hollywood Sign. I went with Celebrity Helicopters and had the very best time. Capture some AMAZING pics for your Instagram profile with a birds’ eye view.

Hollywood and Highland

The Hollywood & Highland shopping centre beautifully frames the Hollywood Sign for one of the best photo locations in Los Angeles! Throughout the area, you can find beautiful backdrops boasting the Hollywood Sign in the distance.

Murals

Los Angeles knows its audience. Us Instagrammers love murals and LA is painted with them EVERYWHERE. From poppy and abstract shapes to simple and clean designs, LA easily has the best places to take mural photos with all the colorful walls. You are sure to find a favourite photo spot in the City of Angels.

Bleeding Hearts Love Wall

A plain white wall splashed with tons of colorful graffiti hearts creates one of the most picture-perfect photo locations in Los Angeles. It was created by British artist James Goldcrown who has made similar pieces around the world. The mural is located right off Abbot Kinney in Venice, which is bustling with incredible clothing stores.

So Far So Good Mural

Another one of the best murals in Venice, you can find “So Far So Good” right on Abbot Kinney. The pieces are placed over brick and it looks extremely well done! It’s one side of the clothing store Rag & Bone, and one of the best spots for a cute picture in Venice!

This is the perfect mural in Los Angeles if you are wearing a poppy color or a contrasting pattern. The trippy woven design is so well done, thanks to the artist Love bErto.

Colorful Polka Dot Wall in Downtown LA

Head to the Arts District for another one of the best photo locations in Los Angeles. It takes a plain wall and makes it pop by adding bright colors and perfectly spaced circles. It’s fun, playful, and a lovely Instagram spot in downtown LA. Head to Little Tokyo afterward for lunch!

I love the more neutral colors of this wall! It’s one of the best Instagrammable spots in LA, especially for a fall aesthetic or less colorful feed. Like the striped mural in Venice, this piece was also made my Love bErto.

The Pink Wall

All four sides of the Paul Smith clothing store are painted this happy shade of pink. Since the wall is just solid pink, it puts all the attention on you, so wear something you’ll love when you visit this LA photoshoot location. This has become quite the tourist attraction and one of the best Instagram spots for eye-catching pics with the LA vacation vibe.

SASKIA Brick Wall

This simple yet gorgeous brick wall gives me all the Rainbow Fish vibes! It’s located in Santa Monica across from beautiful tall palm trees. Head to the side where the entrance to the store Animal Kingdom is, and you’ll have one of the best photoshoot locations in LA! Your social media feed needs a pic here!

This gray and white wall is perfect for showing off your trip to LA! It reads “Made in LA” and can be found in West Hollywood. This is definitely where to take photos on your Los Angeles getaway!

Another spot is South Windsor Blvd where you get tall palm trees, sunny skies, and the grand Hollywood sign in the distance in just one photo. Iconic!

Really, you can’t go wrong capturing some quintessential palm tree photos for the ‘gram while in LA. When looking for palm tree pics, there are many great photo locations in Los Angeles to choose from.

Runyon Canyon Park is one of the most popular hiking spots in Los Angeles and also a great spot to grab a photo while you are working up a sweat.

The Beverly Hills Hotel is one of the most popular photoshoot locations in Los Angeles and it’s obvious why. The beautiful sign, plus clear skies and tall palm trees… it screams Los Angeles!

Of course I have to mention Disneyland! There are photo opportunities in every direction. Whether it’s Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, the Pixar Pier Skyline, one of its many murals, or an awesome photo of you eating some delicious treats, Disneyland does not disappoint the world of Instagram!

Santa Monica & Venice

Two beachside cities of Los Angeles, these are must-sees on your trip and they make for incredible photo backdrops!

Santa Monica Pier

You can’t miss out on a stroll down Santa Monica Pier. There are photo opportunities everywhere you look! It’s colorful, fun, and you have the Pacific Ocean in view.

You can also walk out onto the beach and get the vibrant pier in the background.

As the sun begins to set in Santa Monica, head to 3^rd Street Promenade and get these gorgeous lights streaming across the street in your photos. It’s one of the most instagrammable spots in LA for evening photoshoots!

Another one of my favourite evening photoshoot locations is in nearby Venice. Let the famous Venice sign help make your Instagram gleam! This is one of the hot spots for ‘gram photos in Southern California or possibly even the United States.

Venice Beach Skate Park

Embrace your coolest self with a fun LA photoshoot at the Venice Skate Park. Whether you skate or not, it’s still one of the best photo spots in Los Angeles and Venice itself. You can see the surrounding landscapes, gorgeous sunsets, and ocean from here.

Muscle Beach

Have you got some yoga wear or fitness clothes to show off? Head to Muscle Beach in Venice! This one of the more fun photo locations in Los Angeles to have a photoshoot in your fave workout wear.

Built in 1905, the Venice canals are one of the dreamiest spots to take photos in LA! I absolutely adore it. Where something flowy and summery to complete the aesthetic. Enjoy wandering around here as there are so many instagrammable spots.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is made of more than 2,600 terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood. Grab a foot selfie…or is it a shoefie with your fave stars.

This historical landmark has an atrium that you need to see! The light pours into the building showing off the period architecture and makes a very good photo spot indeed.

Bookworm or not, The Last Bookstore is one of the most famous bookstores in the world and makes for one of the best places to take photos in LA.

Lifeguard towers on the many beaches are the quintessential LA photo op. They are a great spot to spend sunset and snap some photos.

Lemonade

Grab some colorful treats and enjoy the happy ambiance of Lemonade. It has several locations, but I took these photos on Abbot Kinney. It has pretty pops of yellow and turquoise and beautifully designed walls!

There are a multitude of coffee shops, ice cream shops and places to great some good food along with a fun photo. Your Instagram followers will be adding these favorite spots to their bucket list for when they visit.

If you’re looking to give your Instagram an aesthetic boost, a trip to Los Angeles is the way to go. From palm trees, incredible murals, and gorgeous backdrops, LA is ones of the most instagrammable places in the world.
