Seattle is such a great City to visit!  It is only a few hours away from my home, so I have been there so many times. However, once a year I try to make a point of going and seeing the sights and really enjoying it. For a first time visitor, this post will serve as a guide to Seattle – what to see and do – no matter what the weather is like.

Pike Place Market

No trip to Seattle would be complete without a trip to Pike Place Market, which is why it is first up in this guide to Seattle. It is a great location for walking around, tasting delicious foods and picking up some flowers. If you are traveling, there are also dried bouquets that are perfect for bringing home.  It is open early each day, so I recommend getting up bright and early to beat the crowds. You will have no problem finding some great breakfast eats.

While you are here, you can pop over to the very first Starbucks…but be prepared for a long line. Don’t fret, because there are other locations that aren’t as busy in the area.

On my last visit, I walked down the street to the Biscuit Bitch and had an amazing (and unique) lunch. Be prepared for a line and take it to go because there isn’t much seating. You seriously won’t be disappointed!

Fremont Troll

The Fremont Troll is a fun sculpture under the Aurora Bridge. It is a great use of an otherwise neglected space.

I am sure I could do a whole separate guide to Seattle on places to eat…but for now I will sprinkle some in this post. While you are in Fremont, I recommend that you stop by Pie and get some pie! They serve mini sweet and savory pies and they are all completely scrumptious. They are a great place to stop and get some pies to take for a picnic somewhere. Who doesn’t want a mini pie at a picnic?!?

The Great Wheel

The Seattle Great Wheel is at the pier, close to the Seattle Aquarium. The views from the wheel are stunning, especially on a perfectly clear day. Who can resist a ferris wheel?!?

Seattle CityPass

When you want to see the sights of a city, I always look into a CityPass to see what is offered. You can use the pass for several days and there are always sights that are good for rain or shine. The Seattle CityPass is a great purchase if you are visiting. Admission Includes the Space Needle, the Seattle Aquarium,  Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour, EMP Museum   or   Woodland Park Zoo and Chihuly Garden and Glass   or   Pacific Science Center.

Seattle Aquarium

Who doesn’t want to visit the aquarium? The Seattle Aquarium is located at the pier and there are indoor and outdoor exhibits. No matter what age you are, you will enjoy the aquarium.

The EMP Museum or Experience Music Project Museum is located right beside the Space Needle. The exterior of the building is stunning and perfect for photos. Inside there are music themed and pop culture exhibits that will provide entertainment for virtually everyone.

Space Needle

No guide to Seattle would be complete without a suggestion to stop by this Seattle landmark! The Space Needle is a Seattle must see!  The view from the platform at the top is spectacular, especially on a clear day. Even if you don’t want to go up to the top, there is a lot to see and do in the area.

Beside the Space Needle you will find the Pacific Science Center. I love the large whimsical flowers outside called, Sonic Bloom. They are perfect for photographing on a clear day. Aren’t they fun? They remind me of something from Dr. Seuss.

Pineapple Hospitality – The Maxwell Hotel

My last few visits to Seattle, I have stayed at one of the Pineapple Hospitality boutique hotels. They are all unique and totally adorable.  This visit I stayed at The Maxwell Hotel, which has the cutest pink and green lobby I have ever seen. All of the hotels also have pineapple bikes that you can borrow during your stay. Who can resist a pineapple bike?!?

Chihuly Gardens and Glass

Another must see in that I need to suggest in this guide to Seattle is the Chihuly Garden and Glass. The exhibits are so full of colour and you won’t be disappointed. It is located right beside the Space Needle…and in fact you can look up through the roof in the glass room and see the Space Needle.

Argosy Harbor Cruises

I considered going on an Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour many times but didn’t go until this last visit. Considering I enjoyed the boat tour in Chicago when I was there, I decided to go. I can’t believe that I didn’t go earlier. It was phenomenal! The tour guide was very informative and it was a great way to see the City from a different perspective.

Blogger Bella Bucchiotti of xoxoBella is sharing the highlights of her vacation in Seattle, the sights she saw with the Seattle CityPass and her stay at The Maxwell Hotel.

When you are down by the pier, you can often find a Cupcake Royale stand. They have the yummiest ice cream and cupcakes. Definitely don’t walk by!  🙂

Seattle Murals

You know that I love murals, so I have been searching out murals on my recent visits to Seattle.  I will have to share more of them in another blog post soon.
