Ready for Summer + Festival Camping

Festival season and festival camping … I can see you. I can (almost) hear you. And gosh did I miss you! I love nothing more than getting outside, especially if good music and great friends are involved. The mountains, the ocean, parks, trails, forests, even festival grounds, you name it…I love it all.

Unfortunately, this west coast gal has all sorts of crazy weather conditions to combat. More often than not, Mother Nature quite literally rains on my parade.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll shoot content for my blog in a monsoon if I have to, but I always love coming across products that can keep me comfy and cozy outdoors, no matter the forecast. For this reason, I was THRILLED to be re-introduced to Coleman recreational products, just in time for festival season and festival camping!

This summer my friends and I will be hitting a few different music festivals, most of which will involve some festival camping…YAY! In preparation, a few of us headed to Target and grabbed the necessities.

Festival Camping – What You Need

First in our shopping cart? An air mattress, of course. (Disclaimer: look, I love the outdoors, but I like a good night’s sleep, too. No need to FULLY rough it here, people.) A nice sales associate at Target pointed us in the way of the Coleman Single High Queen with the 120V External Pump.

Then we set our eyes on the real prize, the NEW Coleman® Dark Room Tent. The patented Dark Room Technology blocks out 90% of sunlight and reduces heat, which seems essential for an afternoon snooze on those hot festival grounds.  SOLD.

My sweet friend Annika and I decided to put our purchases to the ultimate test. In full festival camping spirit we spent a rainy night camping out and enjoying the playlists we would soon hear live. To my delight, set up was easy-peasy! Within minutes we had the tent pitched, the mattress inflated, and the music turned up.

I’m happy to report the night was a success!

The tent’s built-in WeatherTec system with welded floors and inverted seams, kept us dry throughout the night, and the compact dome-shaped roof offered extra weather protection against the winds.

The mattress also made for a great night’s sleep! All were thankful I got my rest. It has an AirTight system which keeps it leak-free and the bonded fabric surface is also puncture resistant, stretch resistant and has a high weight capacity. The teardown and storage for both the tent and the mattress was also simple and made easy with their expandable carry bags.

Ultimately, festival fashions will fade, as will the fame of many of these headliners and the popularity of their “hits”. But like the Coleman® Dark Room Tent and many other Coleman recreational products, it’s nice to know the friends I share these weekends with are durable, deep-rooted, and life-long. No matter the conditions!

Thanks to my friend Braedin for snapping these festival camping photos for us!
