Today’s post is the second in a series about my California adventures. I spend a couple of days in late October exploring Beverly Hills and Hollywood. There were lots of familar sights to see and it was a busy few days to say the least. I stayed at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills and really loved it there!

Beverly Hills
Living in Canada, palm trees are a real novelty…as is sunny, warm days in late October! I could not get enough of palm trees! Beverly Hills had many streets that were lined from end to end with tall palm trees. 🙂
Beverly Hills
A trip to Beverly Hills isn’t complete without a stop at Beverly Gardens Park which features the famous Beverly Hills Sign and lily pond. It’s a photo op not to be missed!
I was amazed at all of the blooming flowers everywhere in late October. I seriously loved the blooms and wish that we had them at home year round, too!

What fashionista can resist a trip to Rodeo Drive!?! Not me…that’s for sure. I put in a lot of steps (which I always track on my Fitbit when I travel) walking around Rodeo Drive, window shopping and eating!
There were a lot of unique and beautiful buildings. I always try to look up, because sometimes you can see the most beautiful sights.
The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills
I stayed at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills which was a great central location for exploring Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Each Sofitel is a unique blend of French flair and the local charm. The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills embodies Hollywood glamour, European tradition and modern flair.
The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills is absolutely beautiful with many areas of the hotel with unique characteristics. There are a variety of areas to sit and relax or work which vary from very modern to the charm of a country garden.
My Room with a View
From my room I could see the famous Hollywood sign. I adored the big windows in the room with the shutters. Also, who can resist the Perrier and macaroons in your room!?!
There is a rooftop pool with many cozy places to curl up or catch some sun. Many of them are covered for the hot summer days.
The gym at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills was quite possibly the best gym I have seen at a hotel. It was huge and the decor was dramatic.
You must all know that I love colour, so I fell in love with the colourful decor at the Sofitel. It is yellow, orange, peacock blue + purple. I love a hotel with a colourful character.
I mentioned the areas of the hotel with unique decor. One of those was an al fresco terrace inspired by Provence. Le Jardin at Estérel is a charming outdoor space that makes you feel like you are in a country garden. It is stunning!
There were plenty of places around the hotel to set up your laptop and work or just enjoy a drink and read. I love that!
Estérel is a chic Mediterranean restaurant, which has charming (and colourful) decor. I always love when I coordinate with a room. 🙂 There is also a bar, Riviera 31, and I heard that the entertainment is wonderful, especially the Room Service Show.

There really isn’t much better than breakfast in bed! I highly recommend the croissant french toast. Yum! The Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills the perfect place to stay for the holidays.
Hollywood
I initially wasn’t planning on going to Hollywood, but I am glad that I did. It is like Times Square in New York City…you kind of have to go.

Don’t judge me too harshly for eating at In-n-Out Burger…we don’t have them at home. The wait was long, but worth it. 🙂
After burgers, we walked to the TCL Chinese Theatre and the see the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was so busy!
Since the election was coming up in a few weeks, the Donald Trump star was a popular photo op.
Murals around the Sofitel Los Angeles
You all know I know I love colourful walls and murals. Here are a few of my favourites that were in the Beverly Hills/Hollywood area.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is an art museum which isn’t too far away. Outside of the museum are the famous lights which are a great photo opportunity. Next time I want to go at night. 🙂
If you are ever in Beverly Hills, you should check out the Sofitel Los Angeles. It is in a great central location that you will love, too.
Thank you to the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills for hosting me during my visit and allowing me to experience Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
