Today’s post is the first of a recent trip to California. The first stop was in Santa Monica, which is a place that I have been before and love! We stayed at the Georgian Hotel, which is an iconic hotel right across from the beach in Santa Monica. It is an historic art deco building and painted the prettiest colour ever! I am sure you have seen it if you have visited Santa Monica before.

This trip was with my friend Joelle Friend because it is always more fun traveling with friends!

We stayed in a suite at the Georgian Hotel with an epic ocean view.  It had a bedroom that was separated from the main space and just perfect for our girls trip.

We were there in April and the weather was just perfect every day. As soon as we checked in we changed into our suits and went to the beach.

Santa Monica Pier

The Georgian Hotel is also right across from the Santa Monica Pier, too. There are a lot of great photo opportunities waiting there for you, so it is a must see if you go to Santa Monica. It is a lot of fun day or night.

The End of the Trail Route 66 sign is a must take photo opportunity. Route 66, known as the “Main Street of America,” was one of the original highways in the U.S. highway, running from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California. The begin Route 66 sign can be found at the intersection of Adams Street and Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.

I love the lifeguard stands all along the beach in Santa Monica. Once again, they make a great photo opportunity. My friend Elliott Dunning took this favourite photo for me while I was there.
