The next stop on my travel list was the winter wonderland Mont-Tremblant – renowned for its famous year-round Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort. This is where all passionate skiers and snowboarders dream of visiting with its gorgeous landscape, sights, and 102 trails to experience. While we didn’t go downhill skiing, we had a few fun filled days in the Québec winter wonderland!

I visited this extraordinary place with Krystle, and we both found it unforgettable, that’s for sure. It is always so great to spend time with a good friend and a girls trip is always a good idea.

Interestingly, this city was named after the “Mont Tremblant” mountain, which was derived from the indigenous Algonquin people. They referred to it as the “trembling mountain.” Opened in 1939, it is the second-oldest ski resort in North America

Here, although French is the official language, most people speak English. While it is known for its phenomenal skiing, Mont Tremblant is also an excellent summertime destination, too, with its unique location. You can sail, kayak, and even golf here during the warmer months.

Krystle and I visited during the cold months when there was snow everywhere, but I plan on going back again during the summer – it’s a different kind of beautiful, and from my brief stop during a road trip through the area, I know there is so much I need to see.

Cross-Country Skiing at the Domaine Saint-Bernard

For some fun winter activities, you have to visit the Domaine Saint-Bernard. I did some cross-country skiing through this area, and it was simply magical (and also a great workout!). Here, we also fed some local bird residents by hand.

Where I Stayed – Petit Marigot

The bed & breakfast Petit Marigot is a family-run B&B where I was given a very friendly and comfortable stay. The inside of the Petit Marigot has a living room, fireplace, and breakfast room. When you glance out the windows, there is a stunning view of the outside.

There was also a cozy bed, TV, and a private washroom with a shower.

Where I Ate

Eating in Mont Tremblant is fun, exciting, and delicious, with many different cuisines to choose from. Here are some great places to try!

Breakfast At Our Bed & Breakfast Petit Marigot

This is the B&B where we stayed, and they also provided breakfast for us where we had a delicious and filling dish to start the day off right.

Breakfast At Le Charlotte Cafe-Bistrot

Le Charlotte Cafe-Bistrot was our last breakfast stop on the trip before heading to the airport. It was quite busy and small, but the menu selection was great with crepes, sandwiches, and much more. Plus, the food was quite affordable, too!

Dinner At Resto Pub au Coin

You can also grab dinner at the Resto Pub au Coin, which is known for its excellent service and great pub-like atmosphere. The dishes are served up beautifully and range from hamburgers and steak to fish and paninis. We actually ate here on our summer road trip to the Laurentians.

Lunch At La Sandwicherie

Krystle and I had the most delicious food here at La Sandwicherie. She ordered a Thai soup while I enjoyed a vegan chili dish, which was super tasty! They also offered various sandwiches and desserts.

Dinner At La Petite Cachée

The La Petite Cachée was a local restaurant outside the main resort area. We ended our first day with a lovely dinner here that exhibited a beautiful ambiance and provided great service, delicious food, and a small, seasonal menu.

I ordered the pork ribs and fries with Krystle got the carbonara for a main. Both were tasty and very filling!

Drinks at Axe Lounge Bar at the Fairmont Tremblant

The ambiance here at the Axel Lounge Bar was incredible, and the mixologists created cocktails personalized to your specific tastes! It’s a delicious surprise, and I was blown away by their talent. Ours had a tasty house-made agave syrup that was amazing.

These mixologists really capture your taste profile with incredible accuracy. Imagine your own personal cocktail-maker, and this is it.

Dinner at the Chouxgras Restaurant at the Fairmont Tremblant

The Chouxgras Restaurant is a new Brasserie inside the Fairmont Tremblant that opened in 2017. The interior was gorgeous, and the menu options were great with allergy-friendly foods and gluten-free options.

The menu is based on sharing, so Krystle and I shared every meal. We had a Quebec Halibut with root vegetables, a rack of smoked and grilled red venison served with fingerling potatoes and vegetables, and I finished with the gluten-free chocolate cake. Everything was super yummy!

Lunch at Milles Pates

This is a small pasta restaurant located in Centre-Ville in Mont-Tremblant that was recommended by one of our massage therapists. The name Milles Pates actually means “a thousand pastas,” – so basically they’re tempting you with pasta-galore! They had gluten free pasta for me which was delicious.

They specialize in fresh daily house-made pastas and is highly recommended by all of the locals. You can buy them, take them away, and they have a fantastic selection. The best part is that they can make every dish gluten-free – so that’s definitely a win for me!

Dinner at Coco Pazzo Mont-Tremblant

The Coco Pazzo was another restaurant in the Mont-Tremblant resort village that offered amazing food with a menu based on 3 courses. Dishes include fresh pasta, pizzas, seafood, and slow-cooked meats. They also accommodate gluten-free meals as well as vegetarians.
