The next stop on my travel list was the winter wonderland Mont-Tremblant – renowned for its famous year-round Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort. This is where all passionate skiers and snowboarders dream of visiting with its gorgeous landscape, sights, and 102 trails to experience. While we didn’t go downhill skiing, we had a few fun filled days in the Québec winter wonderland!
I visited this extraordinary place with Krystle, and we both found it unforgettable, that’s for sure. It is always so great to spend time with a good friend and a girls trip is always a good idea.
Before you think twice about this one, let me tell you now that this place is definitely a place to tick off the winter bucket list sooner rather than later!
About Mont-Tremblant
Set within the Laurentian Mountains 130km north-west of Montreal, Mont-Tremblant is located in the Canadian province of Québec and spans 665 acres (269 hectares) today.
Québec has 21 regions, which all have unique character. From the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the province of Ontario and from the Arctic Ocean to the United States, Québec is a huge province with so much to see!
Interestingly, this city was named after the “Mont Tremblant” mountain, which was derived from the indigenous Algonquin people. They referred to it as the “trembling mountain.” Opened in 1939, it is the second-oldest ski resort in North America

Here, although French is the official language, most people speak English. While it is known for its phenomenal skiing, Mont Tremblant is also an excellent summertime destination, too, with its unique location. You can sail, kayak, and even golf here during the warmer months.
Krystle and I visited during the cold months when there was snow everywhere, but I plan on going back again during the summer – it’s a different kind of beautiful, and from my brief stop during a road trip through the area, I know there is so much I need to see.
A special thanks to Jean Ladouceur at Rouge Marketing for the outdoor photos.
What To Do In Mont-Tremblant
There is so much to do in Mont-Tremblant that you won’t ever find yourself bored!
Spa at Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant
If you’re the type of person who enjoys a little time for relaxation and pampering, you will love this experience. The Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant will have you feeling like luxury with zero responsibility in this nature-inspired setting.
Here, Krystle and I experienced the pools and massage – trust me when I tell you this is totally worth every penny.
Tour Mont-Tremblant Village
We found ourselves doing a quick tour of the cute Mont-Tremblant village, which looks remarkable when viewed from above on the cabriolet. Definitely a must-do if you want to see this winter wonderland from a distance!
Hot Tubs/Outdoor Spa at the Fairmont Tremblant
If you want to escape the cold for a bit, these hot tubs and outdoor spas at the Fairmont Tremblant are perfect. You can relax, take in the surroundings, and enjoy a cold/hot beverage in there, too.
Ice Skating at Skating Rink Chappelle Saint-Bernard
Surrounded by falling snow and a wintery landscape, ice-skating at Skating Rink Chappelle Saint-Bernard was an absolute dream come true. The skates here are rented out for free if you’re staying in the Mont-Tremblant Pedestrian/Resort village! The ice-skating rink is close by right next to the chapel.
Cross-Country Skiing at the Domaine Saint-Bernard
For some fun winter activities, you have to visit the Domaine Saint-Bernard. I did some cross-country skiing through this area, and it was simply magical (and also a great workout!). Here, we also fed some local bird residents by hand.
Snow Shoeing at Mont-Tremblant National Park
You knew from the beginning of this post that I wouldn’t leave out this must-do experience. If you’re going to Mont-Tremblant, you’d better make the short trip to Mont-Tremblant National Park AKA Parc National du Mont-Tremblant.
Now known as a winter playground, there are more than 120km of trails for beginners and experts alike to discover nature at your own pace around Tremblant! It is perfect for shoe showing, cross-country skiing or even a winter hike.
Where I Stayed – Petit Marigot
The bed & breakfast Petit Marigot is a family-run B&B where I was given a very friendly and comfortable stay. The inside of the Petit Marigot has a living room, fireplace, and breakfast room. When you glance out the windows, there is a stunning view of the outside.
There was also a cozy bed, TV, and a private washroom with a shower.
Where I Ate
Eating in Mont Tremblant is fun, exciting, and delicious, with many different cuisines to choose from. Here are some great places to try!
Breakfast At Our Bed & Breakfast Petit Marigot
This is the B&B where we stayed, and they also provided breakfast for us where we had a delicious and filling dish to start the day off right.
Breakfast At Le Charlotte Cafe-Bistrot
Le Charlotte Cafe-Bistrot was our last breakfast stop on the trip before heading to the airport. It was quite busy and small, but the menu selection was great with crepes, sandwiches, and much more. Plus, the food was quite affordable, too!
Dinner At Resto Pub au Coin
You can also grab dinner at the Resto Pub au Coin, which is known for its excellent service and great pub-like atmosphere. The dishes are served up beautifully and range from hamburgers and steak to fish and paninis. We actually ate here on our summer road trip to the Laurentians.
Lunch At La Sandwicherie
Krystle and I had the most delicious food here at La Sandwicherie. She ordered a Thai soup while I enjoyed a vegan chili dish, which was super tasty! They also offered various sandwiches and desserts.
Dinner At La Petite Cachée
The La Petite Cachée was a local restaurant outside the main resort area. We ended our first day with a lovely dinner here that exhibited a beautiful ambiance and provided great service, delicious food, and a small, seasonal menu.
I ordered the pork ribs and fries with Krystle got the carbonara for a main. Both were tasty and very filling!
Drinks at Axe Lounge Bar at the Fairmont Tremblant
The ambiance here at the Axel Lounge Bar was incredible, and the mixologists created cocktails personalized to your specific tastes! It’s a delicious surprise, and I was blown away by their talent. Ours had a tasty house-made agave syrup that was amazing.
These mixologists really capture your taste profile with incredible accuracy. Imagine your own personal cocktail-maker, and this is it.
Dinner at the Chouxgras Restaurant at the Fairmont Tremblant
The Chouxgras Restaurant is a new Brasserie inside the Fairmont Tremblant that opened in 2017. The interior was gorgeous, and the menu options were great with allergy-friendly foods and gluten-free options.
The menu is based on sharing, so Krystle and I shared every meal. We had a Quebec Halibut with root vegetables, a rack of smoked and grilled red venison served with fingerling potatoes and vegetables, and I finished with the gluten-free chocolate cake. Everything was super yummy!
Lunch at Milles Pates
This is a small pasta restaurant located in Centre-Ville in Mont-Tremblant that was recommended by one of our massage therapists. The name Milles Pates actually means “a thousand pastas,” – so basically they’re tempting you with pasta-galore! They had gluten free pasta for me which was delicious.
They specialize in fresh daily house-made pastas and is highly recommended by all of the locals. You can buy them, take them away, and they have a fantastic selection. The best part is that they can make every dish gluten-free – so that’s definitely a win for me!
Dinner at Coco Pazzo Mont-Tremblant
The Coco Pazzo was another restaurant in the Mont-Tremblant resort village that offered amazing food with a menu based on 3 courses. Dishes include fresh pasta, pizzas, seafood, and slow-cooked meats. They also accommodate gluten-free meals as well as vegetarians.
Final Thoughts
I went into Mont-Tremblant with high expectations, and I left totally overjoyed with how beautiful the scenery was and how fun all of the activities were.
I couldn’t recommend this more, and it definitely takes the cake if you’re searching for that perfect winter wonderland escape.

Within seconds of arriving, you will feel immersed within the pleasant atmosphere just like I was. There is so much to experience here that you won’t ever want to leave. I can’t wait to return one day!

I would love to check this place out one day! Your pictures are gorgeous!
What a stunning setting. I love that you chose bright colors to wear as it offsets all that winter white. Great location.
