Fluffy Strawberry Pie Ingredients
A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.
Fresh strawberries: I don’t recommend using frozen strawberries for this recipe. They tend to be too wet for the pie to set up properly. You will need a 1 pound container of strawberries for this recipe, but you likely won’t need to use the whole container.
Cream cheese: Make the filling rich and creamy and gives it a tasty tang.
Powdered sugar: For sweetness without any graininess.
Strawberry jam: Raspberry jam or even strawberry preserves can be swapped in for a slightly different fruity flavor. Don’t add more jam than the recipe calls for or you run the risk of your pie not setting properly.
Lemon juice: For a bright, tart flavor.
Cool Whip: A generic version of Cool Whip will also work just as well as the name brand.
Readymade graham cracker crust: A handy shortcut ingredient.

Prepare the strawberries: Wash and then dice them.
Make the filling: Beat the cream cheese until smooth and then beat in the powdered sugar, jam and lemon juice. Fold in the Cool Whip and diced strawberries.
Assemble the pie: Spoon the fluffy strawberry filling into the pie crust, smoothing it with a spatula. Chill for 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Substitutions and Variations
Gluten-free: Use a gluten-free pie crust.
Extra bold strawberry flavor: Add a teaspoon of strawberry extract to the filling or mix in finely crushed freeze-dried strawberries for an intense burst of fruity taste.
Add white chocolate: A drizzle of white chocolate over the top adds a deliciously sweet contrast.
Zest it up: If you love citrus, a little orange zest can enhance the fresh, bright notes of the strawberries. You could also swap the lemon juice for lime juice for a similar tartness and brightness.
Graham cracker crust: A homemade graham cracker crust or even an Oreo crust can add a fun twist.
Cool Whip: Homemade stabilized whipped cream is a great substitute for a fresher taste.
Serving Suggestions
Appetizers: Begin your meal with a charred zucchini salad or ham and broccoli crescent cups.
Main dishes: Next, serve chicken Florentine with smashed potato salad or perhaps stuffed turkey breast with a tomato burrata salad.
Desserts: A slice of this strawberry Cool Whip pie makes a wonderful dessert, perhaps paired with some homemade limoncello.
How to Store Creamy Strawberry Pie
Store: This pie should be stored in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days to keep it fresh.
Freeze: Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil to prevent freezer burn. It will stay good in the freezer for up to 1 month.
Thaw: Let it defrost in the refrigerator for a few hours for the best texture.
Top Tips
Fresh is best: Fresh strawberries and fresh lemon juice offer the best flavors.
Beat until smooth: Keep beating the cream cheese until it’s smooth before adding the other ingredients, and then keep beating until that’s smooth too.
Let it set: This pie takes at least 4 hours to set in the refrigerator so it’s a dessert to plan ahead.
Strawberry Pie with Cool Whip FAQs
While a graham cracker crust adds a classic flavor, you can switch it up with an Oreo crust for a chocolatey twist or a vanilla wafer crust for a sweeter, softer bite. A shortbread crust would also pair beautifully with the strawberry filling. If you prefer a homemade crust, simply crush your favorite cookies and mix them with melted butter before pressing into a pie pan. Just make sure your crust is completely cooked and cooled before adding in the filling.
Decorating the pie is optional but I recommend adding some whipped cream and fresh berries (halved or sliced strawberries) on top. Fresh mint adds a contrasting color and crumbled cookies are nice too. For the freshest look, add your garnishes just before serving the pie.

Nutrition
This no bake strawberry pie is quick and easy to make. In fact, the hardest thing about it is waiting a few hours for it to set before diving in. It’s similar to a strawberry jello pie, just without the gelatin mixture. Instead, cream cheese and Cool Whip combine to make a light and airy filling. Decorate your strawberry Cool Whip pie with whipped cream and fresh fruit just before serving. It might look fancy but it’s such an easy strawberry pie to make.
