Chili powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and paprika: This blend is utterly yum with the sweet potatoes.
Sweet potatoes: Naturally sweet and sturdy, perfect for air frying into crispy wedges.
Avocado oil: Ensures even crisping and adds a subtle, nutty flavor.
Cornstarch: Helps achieve extra-crispy wedges by absorbing moisture.

Substitutions and Variations

Cinnamon goodness: If you like cinnamon with your sweet potatoes, you can add ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon. For the sweetness, add a tablespoon of brown sugar to the mix of seasonings.
Hot ‘n spicy: If you like a bit more spice you can add ⅛ teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
Oil options: Swap avocado oil with olive oil, coconut oil, or your preferred cooking oil.
Different potatoes: Use regular russet or Yukon gold potatoes for a more traditional wedge, or try purple sweet potatoes for added color.
Herb alternatives: Replace parsley with cilantro, rosemary, or thyme for a different flavor profile.
Cornstarch swap: Use arrowroot powder or tapioca starch if you prefer a gluten-free alternative.
Dipping sauce variations: Instead of this easy spicy mayo recipe, serve the wedges with your favorite dipping sauce – maybe garlic aioli, ranch dressing, or honey mustard. Any of those would be good with these seasoned sweet potato wedges.

How to Store Sweet Potato Wedges

Freezer: I don’t recommend freezing this recipe.
Reheat: You can reheat sweet potato wedges in the air fryer or oven.

Top Tips

Cut evenly: Ensure sweet potato wedges are cut to a similar size for even cooking and crispiness.
Dry thoroughly: Pat the sweet potatoes dry before tossing them with oil to help them crisp up better.
Don’t overcrowd: Arrange the wedges in a single layer in the air fryer. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and less crispiness.
Adjust for size: If your sweet potato wedges are larger or thicker, you may need to increase the cooking time slightly.
Watch closely: Keep an eye on the wedges during the last few minutes of cooking to avoid burning.
