What is the month of October if we aren’t trying to scare ourselves silly? I am a fan of horror and have found that there have been an insane amount of creepy podcasts recently pop up. They are 100% dedicated to making us paranoid at every sound we hear in the middle of the night. Here are some of my personal favourite Halloween podcasts and some of my friends’ picks for spooky podcasts. They will help get you in the Spooky Season spirit and to keep it going all year round!
Podcasts are the bomb diggity, you didn’t need me to tell you this. However, they have been on the up and up lately with everyone being at home. We are all needing some sort of entertainment after we watched The Office for the 87 time that month. If you are looking for some new episodes with some creepy audio drama, well, I have a Halloween podcast or two for you!
If you are looking for haunted houses and scary stories, you have come to the right place. These creepy podcasts with a mysterious disappearance or two, Halloween episodes and good old ghost stories are a great replacement for a horror film.
Full. Body. Chills.
Paranormal activity is something that really gets all of us thinking if there is life after death. But for some, this could mean that some will pass on peacefully, while some spirit’s souls are left to bring about chaos and disaster. The Full. Body. Chills. podcast is the adult version of those campfire stories you heard as a kid.
My Favorite Murder
How do you process something that is super serious and can be a touchy subject? With humour, of course! Listeners can recommend cases to the show and the hosts, Karen and Georgia, will tackle the case to dissect the good, bad, and the funny of the situation. If you are looking for a good audio drama, check out My Favorite Murder podcast.
Crime Junkie
Crime Junkie is a horror fanatic’s favourite. Why? Because the horror comes from real people in real events. From serial killers, to recent captures, to people that vanished out of thin air, Ashley and Brit go down every rabbit hole to try to help find justice for lives lost and seek help from their worldwide audience.
Morbid
If you are in need to be creeped out all year long, Morbid is for you. With true stories about the wicked, wild, and flat out spooky, you are going to have goosebumps from start to finish with every episode. They say it’s a lighthearted nightmare here. However, you might be doing some background checks on some of your friends, first! This is one of those Halloween podcasts that you don’t listen to in the dark!

“Occult, metaphysical, and fantastical horror” that are not meant for the faint of heart. The Dark Verse consists of short stories that you may or may not want to listen to when it is dark and rainy outside. And if you want to freak out your younger siblings, this might be a great go-to reference to scare the annoying out of them!

The Last Podcast On The Left
I am all about making fun of a serious situation because if I don’t, I will stay paranoid and easily spooked! The hosts of The Last Podcast On The Left guarantees to introduce you to real-life crimes and paranormal anomalies. However, they also include a laugh or two to make it easier to sleep at night. Add this to your list of must listen Halloween podcasts!
The Black Tapes
You know how in the beginning of some movies, it will state that the plot was based off of true events? Yeah, well The Black Tapes is the same as that. Although these creepy tales are fictional, it is hard not to believe some of the morbid truth behind some of them…
Whether you are a fan of scary stores, true crime, urban legends, there any many good podcast choices that will get in the Halloween spirit. We can all use a good fictional podcast with spooky stories. They are a nice alternative to horror movies and the usual Halloween specials on your favourite TV show.

Love this list!
Another one to check out is “Scared to Death”
It’s my favorite 😍
Thanks! I will add that one to my list this year. 🙂
My whole family always think I’m weird because I listen to stuff like this to relax and fall asleep. They’re like what’s wrong with rain sounds? But no, this is what does it for me. I’m working my way through the list but loving every single one so far 🙂
So let’s start listening to these podcasts one by one.
I cannot wait to check these out!
I have never really been a big “PodCast” person but we have been watching “Murder in the Building” by Tina Fey, about a PodCast (or I guess it really pokes fun at they volume of podcasts these days and how everyone with a microphone is doing them.)
These all sound so good! The names alone are super catchy.
Crime Junkie is my fav!!! I’ll have to check out the rest of these!
I have been looking for some new podcasts. Definitely going to check these out!
