Why You’ll Love It

Such a fabulous flavor: Every bite of these bacon cheeseburger sliders with Hawaiian rolls is a pleasure. The flavors include meaty beef, crispy salty bacon, melted cheese, fluffy bread, and a really delicious cheeseburger sauce.
Easy to prepare: After cooking the bacon, the burger ingredients are cooked and combined to make the slider filling. After that, you assemble the sliders, add cheeseburger sauce and bake them in the oven to perfection.
A crowd-pleasing recipe: This is the kind of slider everyone will want to munch. The flavors are amazing and everyone who likes the classic appeal of cheeseburger flavors is going to enjoy this.

Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders Ingredients

A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Bacon: I like to cook mine crispy. You can cook it to your preferred doneness. Use applewood smoked bacon or any other kind you want.
Ground beef: Lean ground beef is good here. Or you can use a fattier kind but then you’ll probably want to drain off the excess grease.
Spices: Onion and garlic powder pair with ground mustard and smoked paprika to infuse the beef mixture with flavor.
Cheddar cheese: It’s not a cheeseburger without the cheese!
Dill pickles: Omit them if you’re not a pickle fan. (I love to use homemade pickles!)
Mayonnaise: The basis of the cheeseburger sauce. Full-fat mayo is the tastiest.
Rolls: Use Hawaiian rolls or slider buns.

Ingredients for bacon cheeseburger sliders include rolls, cheese slices, crispy bacon, spices, pickles, juicy ground beef, mustard, mayonnaise, sour cream, oil, relish, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and onions.

How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders

For more detailed instructions with weights and measurements, jump to the printable recipe card.

Cook the bacon: Bake the bacon in the oven until crispy, drain on a paper towel lined plate, and then chop it.
Make the beef filling: Sauté the beef, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, ground mustard, salt and black pepper until no pink remains in the beef.
Make the cheeseburger sauce: Combine the sauce ingredients.
Assemble the bacon cheeseburger sliders: Put the bun halves in a baking dish and top with the sliced cheddar cheese, beef mixture, cheeseburger sauce, sliced colby jack cheese, pickles, bacon, and finally the tops of the buns.
Bake and serve: Brush melted butter on top of the sliders and sprinkle on some everything bagel seasoning. Bake until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted, then serve immediately with the remaining cheeseburger sauce for dipping.

Substitutions and Variations

Gluten-free option: Use gluten-free buns or serve the sliders in lettuce wraps instead of in buns or rolls.
Optional toppings: Add lettuce or sliced fresh tomatoes.
Spice them up: Add chili powder or hot sauce to the beef mixture or add jalapeno slices to the sliders before serving.
Different cheese slices: Swiss cheese, American cheese or gouda cheese would all work.
A different sauce: Instead of cheeseburger sauce, you can use ketchup or mustard.
Vegetarian sliders: Swap the ground beef for mushrooms and black beans, and omit the bacon.
Everything bagel seasoning: Use sesame seeds instead.
Crumbled bacon: You can use either chopped bacon or crumbled bacon. If you cook it extra-crispy, it’s easier to snap or crumble than chop.

Serving Suggestions

As an appetizer: Why not offer a trio of sliders to begin? Perhaps these cheeseburger sliders, blackened salmon sliders and maple bacon turkey sliders.
As a snack: Enjoy one (or two!) of these with an iced gingerbread latte or (for a special occasion) some Rumchata lemonade.
As the main course: If these sliders are the main event, pair them with sweet potato wedges or an iceberg wedge salad.

How to Store Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders

Store: These are best served as soon as they’re cooked, but you can also keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and eat within 3 days.
Reheat: Wrap leftovers in foil and warm them back up in a 350°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Alternatively, melt a little butter in a skillet, add the sliders in there, cover and cook over a low heat until warmed through.
Freeze: Don’t freeze these – the bread will get soggy and the sauce will separate.

Top Tips

Plan ahead: Cook the bacon ahead if you want. Just keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to make the sliders.
Use the right buns: Use Hawaiian rolls or slider rolls. If you only have larger buns, you can use a cookie cutter to make them slider size.
Don’t let them burn: If the sliders are browning too fast on top, cover them with foil and continue baking until the cheese has melted.

Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders FAQs

Can I make these without the beef?

Sure, you can sub ground chicken or ground turkey for a lighter flavor.

Why are sliders called that?

These miniature versions of burgers might be called sliders because of the way they slide across a griddle. They also “slide” down your throat easily because they’re so tasty!
