- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup mini chocolate chips, plus 2 Tablespoons for topping before baking
- ⅓ Cup salted butter, melted
- 1 Cup granulated sugar
- 2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- ¼ Cup sour cream, or Greek yogurt
- 1 Cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Butter or oil a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix to coat all the chocolate chips with the flour mixture. Set aside.
- In another large mixing bowl, add the melted butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until all ingredients are combined.
- Add the egg and sour cream. Mix well between each addition.
- Add the flour in 3 increments, alternating with the milk.
- Mix until all ingredients are well blended but don’t over-mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of mini chocolate chips on top of the batter (optional but good!)
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes. When inserting a toothpick in the middle it will come out clean.
- Allow the chocolate chip bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely before serving.
