There is nothing like an end-of-winter sunshine trip to Punta Cana to recharge your soul and get in the summertime mindset. On my most recent trip to the Dominican Republic, I had the most fabulous time soaking up the sunshine at the Royalton Bavaro Resort, taking boat tours, and being able to just do what I love most – explore this crazy world! A vacation in Punta Cana is just what I needed.
Come along with me as I tell you all about the incredible place of Punta Cana and all the fun to be had there! This Punta Cana travel blog has all the details!
About the Dominican Republic
This is a place that is all about the good times and the good vibes. Although the entire place isn’t an island, it is connected to the nation of Haiti. It is the second largest country (right behind Cuba!) in the Caribbean with nearly 11 million people in the country!
With over 6 million visitors a year and being one of the most sought-after honeymoon destinations in the world, tourism is the Dominican Republic’s biggest industry. Well, I can see why! Being infamous for their beaches, rainforests, and savannah highlands – this little island has everything you could want for an adventurous time! There are so many incredible things to do in Punta Cana.
Getting to Know Punta Cana
This fun little town is on the easternmost tip of the beautiful Dominican Republic. The La Costa del Coco, or the Coconut Coast, is known for their miles of stunning beaches and clear, cool waters. This entire area has these famous and insanely interesting resorts and golf courses. Sailing, kayaking, and zip-lining are other common activities in Punta Cana. You will find the best beaches in Punta Cana, with over 20 miles of nothing but white, sandy beaches with coconut trees dangling over my head? Sign me up for a vacation to Punta Cana!

Royalton Bavaro Resort & Spa
I was lucky enough to be hosted by the luxurious and regal-like Royalton Bavaro Resort & Spa. This place is perfect for making dreams come true for someone’s Carribean vacation! They are fabulous in accommodating parties of all sizes – couples, families, and even just yourself!
This all-inclusive resort has everything you could ever need. From rooms with a beach view, reservation-free dining with chef-curated menus, along with award-winning customer service – you will not be disappointed with your stay. They have activities and games for children and teens to enjoy, all the while the adults can have some grown up fun at the bars with stellar cocktails and they can even grab a tube and float down their lazy river to chill in the sun.
With spa and fitness centers, you can still enjoy a nice workout then immediately go and get the massage of a lifetime by their certified spa staff. You can dive deep with their services packages that are guaranteed to give you a day filled with nothing but pure relaxation. Or you can opt to squeeze in a facial, body scrub, or a mani/pedi if you feel the need to.
The rooms have lots of room and very comfy beds, we got to enjoy two types of rooms while we are there, we enjoyed the swim up pool room best. Staying in one of the best swim-up rooms in Punta Cana was a real treat. It was so nice to wake up and take a dip in the pool and be able to see have easy accesses to the room.
Between the Teens Club and Genesis Casino, you and your family may not want to even leave this incredible resort!
Nexus Boat Tours in Punta Cana
On one of the days I did something that I cannot go without if we are staying on the water – we did a catamaran tour! Through Nexus Boat Tours, they had us hop onto the most gorgeous, sea-worthy catamaran and we sailed away. We had a real fun time dancing along and riding the waves like true locals who joined us in having the time of our lives. Let the salty sea air let your hair blow and carry your stresses away. You will see a plethora of sea life and parts of the ocean you never thought to imagine!
We got the whole boat to our self and we stopped on this island and found bent palm trees and watched sunset as it left ti sky it was so lovely!

I absolutely loved visiting the Domincan Republic. It for sure isn’t going to be the last time my beach-loving self is going to be there. From the people, culture, and all around vibe of this tropical coast of Punta Cana, there was always some kind of adventure I wanted to explore and be part of.
There is no way you can miss out on an opportunity to travel there. I want to go somewhere tropical so bad! I miss the beach.
That place you stayed at looks amazing. I hope this pandemic gets over soon so we can go out again! Stay safe!
Omg – your photos are amazing! I’ve never been there before and would love to visit (I wish i were there now)! And all your swimsuits — fabulous!
Our island is just a 30 minute boat ride away and yet I’ve never visited the DR. I need to change that once this craziness is over.
What a fun time! I’d love to go here one day. I love being by the water. I love your swimsuits!
