Spring Flower Pretzel Bite Ingredients

A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below

Waffle-shaped pretzels: The Snyders regular waffle pretzels work well here.
Hershey’s hug candies: These brown and white striped candies melt on to the pretzels and hold the M&Ms in place. Use a similar brown and white candy if you like.
M&Ms: Choose the pastel colored ones if you can get them, as they’re more springlike or Easter-like.

Substitutions and Variations

Change up the candies:  Feel free to use another kind of chocolate candy on the Easter pretzel bites. Anything that melts will work. You can also use a different type of M&M or the regular colors.
Not keen on pretzels? You can use mini cookies instead.

How to Store Flower Bunny Treats

Store:  Keep these in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Freeze:  These don’t freeze well – the pretzels would thaw out mushy.

Top Tips

Use regular waffle snap pretzels: These work better than the butter ones. You can also use twist pretzels although the chocolate candy will spill over the sides a little.
Get the oven temperature right: 200 degrees F is enough to melt the Hershey’s hugs in a few minutes. If it’s any hotter the outside of the chocolate candy will melt quickly and the inside won’t.
Set them fast: Pop the finished spring flower pretzel bites in the refrigerator for 10 minutes and they’ll set quickly.

Spring Flower Pretzel Bites FAQs

Can you make a gluten-free version?

You can use gluten-free pretzels (here) for these. Hershey’s hugs aren’t gluten-free so you can use your preferred gluten-free chocolate candies instead. Most Mu0026Ms are gluten-free except the crispy ones and the pretzel-filled ones.

Do you have to use waffle pretzels?

No, but if you use the twisty square pretzels, they don’t hold the melted Hershey’s hug so well and might look a bit messy.
