If you’re planning your escape to beautiful St Lucia and are wondering where to stay, look no further. Saint Lucia is home to breathtaking beaches, a lush rainforest, and of course, luxury resorts. In today’s post, I am sharing my stay at the Sandals Grande St Lucian!
Where is the Sandals Grande St. Lucian?
Perfectly placed on it’s very own peninsula on the Island’s northwest coast, the Sandals Grande St. Lucian resort is about six miles from St. Lucia’s capital city, Castries. The mile-long peninsula is between Rodney Bay and the historic Pigeon Island National Park.
The resort itself is huge, with five swimming pools (one including a swim-up bar), four whirlpools and a lengthy white sandy beach. Lined with palm trees and saturated with comfy deck chairs, the narrow but long beach was the showstopper of the Sandals Grande Saint Lucian. With crystal clear water and unobstructed views of the vast Caribbean Sea, the resort’s beach is revered as the most beautiful on the island, with the calmest waters.

The picturesque Pigeon Island National Landmark is a short walk from the resort, where you can hike up to impressive views. The resort is also a 20-minute drive from George F.L. Charles Airport and a 90-minute Hewanorra International Airport.
Stay at One, Play at Three: the Sandals Exchange Program in St Lucia
Even though the resort is located at the far Northern end of the island, it’s easy to go off-site whenever you want to explore other areas. There are even complimentary shuttles to take you to the other Sandals St. Lucia properties.
With the Sandals Stay at One, Play at Three Exchange Program, your dining options expand to 27 restaurants. You can extend your diving experiences to exotic underwater playgrounds at two additional resorts. You can also enjoy the vibrant entertainment that’s changing from night to night at all three resorts. Complimentary round trip transfers between all resorts is included with your stay.
Perfect for Relaxing & Active Vacations
The Sandals Grande St Lucian is the perfect getaway, whether you are looking for a relaxing trip or staying active enjoying the outdoors. The synergy between the sea, white-sand beach, and surrounding mountains paired with the spectacular sunsets – this resort oozes romance and is set up perfectly for couples to enjoy together.
A special thank you to Brendan Williams for joining me on this trip and taking photos.

What are the rooms like at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian?
Sandals Grande St. Lucian over 300 rooms and suites with three different levels of service (Butler Level, Concierge Level & Entry Level). Guests who stay in the Butler Level rooms will be provided with a cell phone to directly contact their butler whenever they have a request. With the Concierge Level, guests have access to Club Sandals, a private, air-conditioned lounge with access to a concierge. The Entry Level rooms don’t have access to a butler or Club Sandals, but still have access to everything else available on the resort property.
Over the water bungalows!
The resort even has over the water bungalows! Sandals was one of the first resort groups to bring all-inclusive over water bungalows to the Caribbean. The over water bungalows at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian have glass floor panels, a private outdoor soaking tub, over water hammocks, and a pillow menu. As well, guests have access to the resort’s Butler Level service and 24-hour room service.

What is the food like?
With an array of fine dining restaurants, there are so many food options at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian resort. Whatever you’re craving, there is no shortage of choice: fresh Caribbean seafood, traditional Italian, Thai, Sushi, French Cuisine, and even a pub. As a celiac and someone with numerous food allergies, I had no problem eating at every restaurant I tried. They really make sure that everyone, even those with specific dietary needs, are taken care of.
What is there to do at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian?
There are so many of activities to keep you busy and entertained during your stay at the Sandals Grande St Lucian. You can spend a day in the water snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, wake boarding, and more! Sandals also has two challenging golf courses, beach volleyball, pool, and tennis.
We did several excursions with Island Routes Tours which were so amazing! My favourite excursion was the Soufriere Adventure Cruise ! It was a catamaran cruise down the coast to the famous Piton Mountains of St. Lucia. The entire time was such a blast.
All-in-all, I can’t recommend Sandals Grande St. Lucian enough! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or an active vacation, Sandals Grande St. Lucian is the perfect mix of romance, nature, and luxury. Check out my other blog post about my stay in Saint Lucia HERE!
