Watermelon Boba Tea Popsicle Ingredients

A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Watermelon: The star of these refreshing popsicles, watermelon adds a sweet, juicy flavor that’s perfect for hot summer days. You can also use other fruits like strawberries, kiwi, or a mix of your favorites if you prefer.
Coconut cream: This brings a rich, creamy texture to the popsicles. Make sure you use cream and not coconut milk, as the higher fat content helps provide a smoother texture once frozen.
Tapioca pearls (boba): This is what gives the boba popsicles their fun, unique twist. The tapioca pearls are the same as those used in traditional bubble tea and they provide a fun chewy element to the popsicles.
Brown sugar: It can be added to the tapioca pearls and water mixture to sweeten them. You can use white sugar if you prefer, or even omit the sugar entirely if you want.

Leave room at the top: The liquid may expand slightly, so don’t overfill.

Watermelon Boba Popsicles FAQs

What type of watermelon should I use for this recipe?

Use a ripe and sweet watermelon for this recipe. You’ll need about 4 cups of watermelon chunks or half a watermelon. You can also use frozen, but thaw it first so it blends in evenly.

How can I ensure that my tapioca pearls are cooked perfectly?

Follow the instructions on the package for your tapioca pearls. Boil them in hot water for about 5 minutes or until they float, then transfer them to a bowl of cold water.

What other types of sweeteners can I use instead of brown sugar and honey?

You can use agave syrup or another preferred sweetener of your choice. Just adjust the amount used to suit your own sweetness preference.

Why do I need to run the popsicle molds under hot water before removing the popsicles?

Running the popsicle molds under hot water for a short time helps to loosen the popsicles and makes them easier to remove without causing any damage to their shape.

Can I use other fruits instead of watermelon?

Yes, you can! Feel free to experiment with other fruits. Just remember that juicier fruits work best as they help the popsicles freeze into a solid form.

Do I need to use a specific type of popsicle mold for this recipe?

Not necessarily. You can use any popsicle mold you have on hand. Just make sure to evenly distribute the boba and honey into each mold before freezing. This will help to guarantee that each popsicle has a good balance of sweetness and texture.
