Ingredients for a Chicken Caesar Avocado Wrap

A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Mayonnaise: Use your usual favorite – one with a thick and creamy consistency to hold all the other added ingredients.
Garlic clove: Freshly minced to add a punch of bold taste to your chicken Caesar wrap.
Apple cider vinegar: Adds a tangy taste that balances the richness of the mayonnaise.
Dijon mustard: Adds some heat and complexity.
Worcestershire sauce: You’ll love the deep, savory umami flavor it brings to your Caesar chicken wraps.
Shredded parmesan cheese: It infuses a nutty and salty taste. I prefer freshly grated parmesan cheese, but pre-grated will do too.
Cooked chicken: Tender and juicy, either diced or shredded. Use skinless chicken breast. If using rotisserie chicken, remove the skin before preparing it.
Chopped romaine lettuce: This crisp lettuce adds a classic Caesar salad element.
Avocados: Creamy and rich, choose ripe avocados.
Caesar dressing: Coats the ingredients – any favorite brand will do.
Burrito-sized tortillas: Large and warm, they are perfect for encasing all the yummy fillings of your Caesar salad wrap with chicken. Soft flour tortillas are also easy to use. You can use whole wheat tortillas or your favorite kind.

Substitutions and Variations

Protein alternatives: Swap chicken breasts for grilled shrimp, turkey or tofu.
Greens: Use kale, spinach or iceberg lettuce instead of romaine.
Vegan option: Replace the mayonnaise with vegan mayo and use a plant-based parmesan substitute in your homemade Caesar dressing.
Gluten-free: Choose gluten-free tortillas to make this wrap gluten-free.
Additional veggies: Add sliced cucumbers, red bell peppers, red onions, or grape tomatoes for extra crunch and flavor.
Crunchy bits: Add golden brown croutons (I love these!), crispy onions or a toasted seed mix.

Serving Suggestions

Appetizer: Start with a light rice salad or my tuna and potato salad. For a cozy start, make this veggie and bean soup.
Main: Serve your chicken Caesar wrap recipe just as they are.
Dessert: End off with lemon posset brulee or strawberry shortcakes.

How to Store a Chicken Wrap

Store: Any leftover wraps can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For the best texture and flavor, store the dressing separately and add it just before serving. The Caesar dressing will stay fresh in an airtight container or plastic wrap in the fridge for up to a week.
Freezer: I don’t recommend freezing these homemade chicken Caesar wraps.

Top Tips

Don’t use cold wraps: They will probably tear or crack, so use warm wraps for this recipe.
Perfectly shredded chicken: For tender, shredded chicken, cook it in a slow or pressure cooker before shredding.
Ripe avocados: Ensure avocados are perfectly ripe for a creamy, smooth addition to your wrap.
Crisp lettuce: Keep the romaine lettuce crisp by storing it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to assemble the wraps.
Extra dressing: If you like extra saucy wraps, keep some Caesar dressing on hand for dipping or drizzling. If you prefer, you can use lemon juice instead of apple cider vinegar in the dressing.
Taste the dressing: You might need to add more salt or a crack of freshly ground black pepper to it.
Make minis: The chicken Caesar filling makes two large Caesar salad wraps, but you can use smaller tortillas or less filling to make more than two wraps. You could also use large wraps cut in half for this.
Stabilize the wraps for transport: Add toothpicks to help the wraps stay together if you’re transporting them.
