Rainbow Unicorn Toast Ingredients

A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Bread: Use thick-cut bread because it’s the sturdiest. You can also use a medium-cut loaf or even slice your own.
Cream cheese: Remember to take it out of the refrigerator about half an hour before making rainbow toast. This is because cream cheese spreads easier when it is at room temperature. Full-fat delivers the richest flavor.
Food coloring: Choose food coloring gels or dyes in any four pastel shades you prefer. You can use any colors you want and you don’t have to use pastel shades for the sprinkles and cream cheese.
Sprinkles: To decorate the dish. Any colors will work.

Top Tips

Get the color right: If you want a bolder shade, add more food coloring and mix again. Bear in mind it’s easier to add more colur if needed than to add too much and end up with a shade that’s too dark.

Make it for other occasions: Try pink and red for a Valentine’s Day take on this breakfast or snack for kids. Green would be great for St Patrick’s Day. And then you have red and green for Christmas, orange and black for Halloween, or any other variations you can come up with.
