It’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween party ideas for adults. Take this Halloween vial shooter, for example. You only need 4 ingredients to make it, along with a few easy-to-find pieces of equipment. The kids might be looking forward to trick-or-treating. But the grownups will be looking forward to these fun Halloween rum shots in test tubes! These alcoholic shots for Halloween are so easy to make ahead in a vial or a syringe.
Some of the best Halloween shots recipes are served in test tubes or Halloween themed shot glasses. Your party guests will be so impressed!
More Halloween favorites to try include Vampire’s Kiss Jell-O shots, no churn Halloween ice cream, candy apples, and caramel apples!
The simple ingredients for these alcoholic shots for Halloween are strawberry daiquiri mix, rum, simple syrup, and black food coloring. You will also need small glass vials with corks, a squeeze bottle, a measuring cup, and something to stir the Halloween drink mixture. I am sure you will find they compliment leftover Halloween candy nicely.
How to Make a Halloween Vial Shooter
These make ahead these fun shots in a vial or syringe are easy to make. I love them because the mixture looks like vampire blood! And what could be more fun for Halloween? These are the vials that I used in this recipe, but others will work just as good or even just small plastic cups instead.
The first thing to do when making these vampire shots is blend daiquiri mix with rum in a measuring cup. It’s best to use a glass one because a plastic one might stain. Now mix the food dye with the simple syrup and then mix all the Halloween shooters ingredients together well.
Pour some of the daiquiri mixture into each vial followed by the simple syrup mixture. You will see the black mixture sinking to the bottom of the vial. These are great served chilled or at room temperature, as you prefer. I like them chilled best. These squeeze bottles make assembly easy.
Tips for Perfect Halloween Rum Shots
Make sure these alcoholic shots for Halloween stay intact! You might like to use some kind of holder to stand the vials up and stop them toppling over. Also, really push those corks down into the vials for a good seal. With a firm twist, these will be the best rum shots not just in flavour but also simple to prepare and easy to open.
These make ahead test tube shots in a vial or syringe will eventually settle with the black mixture under the red mixture. It looks like vampire blood whether or not you give them a shake before serving. Shaking them first ensures the ingredients in these themed drinks are well combined so I would suggest doing that.
These spooky cocktails/shots are a must-make recipe if you’re looking for the best Halloween party ideas for adults. It’s so much and Halloween is the only time you can make the grossest looking foods and drinks ever! Despite its appearance, this Halloween vial shooter tastes delicious and definitely deserves a place on your drink menu.
So, How Do They Taste?
The simple syrup just tastes sweet while the food dye doesn’t taste of anything. That means the only ingredients you will taste in these easy shots are the daiquiri mix and the rum. So if rum is your liquor of choice, you can be sure you’re going to love Halloween shot recipes like this one.
Using a daiquiri mix saves you having to prepare your own, so it’s a neat timesaver. That’s handy to know if you are looking at other Halloween cocktails and party ideas for adults which will take time as well.
Typical daiquiri mix ingredients include strawberry and lime juice concentrates, sugar, red coloring, and a few other things. Some mixes also have lemon juice.
You can combine this mix in creepy vials or test tubes using your choice of rum, vodka or whisky. Any of those will make a tasty cocktail. I like to make Halloween vial shots but if you prefer vodka, whisky or even tequila, you can use that in place of the rum.
These Halloween white rum shooters that looks like vampire blood will taste of liquor as well as hints of strawberry and lime. Yum – it’s one of the best Halloween cocktail recipes for sure, especially if the spooky season is your favourite holiday.
More Serving Ideas
Rather than serving these alcoholic shots for Halloween in vials, you could use syringes. That’s another fun way to serve these fruity shots. Obviously these need to be stored with the open end facing upwards and without the lancet or needle attached!
When it’s time to drink, put the syringe open side down in a glass of clear liquid (Sprite works) so the blood looking mixture runs out a little. Add some plastic vampire teeth to the glass for extra scare factor and fun touch!
Create these make ahead shots in a vial or make Halloween syringe shots which are sure to be a hit. But how about using a blood bag to make these vampire bite shots? Yes, you might like to make a batch of this Halloween vial shooter but this isn’t a recipe for a pitcher. Instead you could use fake blood bags. The ‘tube’ functions as a straw and these are guaranteed to be a hit! There are so many creative Halloween shot ideas you can come up with.
If there will be kids at the party, you might want to make these non-alcoholic. You have a couple of options here. Either leave the rum out of some Halloween white rum shots or use cherry Kool-Aid in the kids’ ones. If you’re making both, it’s good to make sure the adult ones and kid ones look different so there’s no mix up!
Vampire Kiss Halloween Vial Shooter Recipe
Vampire Kiss Halloween Vial Shooter – Rum Shots
Ingredients
- 1 Cup daiquiri mixer, strawberry
- 1 Cup rum, white
- 1/4 Cup simple syrup
- 1/4 Tsp. food dye, black gel
Instructions
- Combine the daiquiri mix and white rum in the pourable measuring cup and mix well.
- Combine the simple syrup and black dye in the squeeze bottle and stir or shake until fully combined.
- Pour About 1.5 ounces of the red mixture into each vial.
- Squeeze about 1 teaspoon of the simple syrup mixture into each vial.
- Let sit for about 10 minutes so the black settles to the bottom.
- Chill if desired.
Notes
- The vials leaked if the corks weren’t pushed into the top really well. So, don’t be scared to really get that cork in there to avoid any spills.
- The black will settle to the bottom eventually, if you want the colors to separate. If not, give it a shake and it will combine them. You’ll want to shake it before drinking anyways. You can also squirt the simple syrup into the vial in a circular motion to make the neat lines in your shooter.
- These vials should stand on their own, so they’re fun for party options. However, they’re not as sturdy, so having them on a secured table is best.
- These taste best when chilled.

Can you make these if it’s not Halloween (asking for a friend!) They’re too good to save for then.
Just kidding, I just love Halloween! I just had to try these, being a massive strawberry fan and I used Malibu instead of regular rum because that’s what I had in the cupboard.
They were tropical and really nice. If you make these in test tubes make sure you push the corks in tight so none spills out (and don’t serve them anywhere near a light colored rug!) If you don’t have corks, you can buy these stands to stand the shooters up in.
OMG, these are so fun for Halloween! Love the test tubes, it’s the perfect glass for a vampire.
It’s still early but it’s great to have an idea already in mind.
So cute and I love daiquiri and the vial is so cute!
How fun are these?! I can’t wait to make them for Halloween.
I can’t wait to make these. Planning a halloween party this year.
