A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Tequila: Provides the smooth, bold base for the margarita. Blanco tequila is a clean, smooth choice that pairs well with fruit but you can use any kind of tequila here.
Orange liqueur: Adds sweet citrus notes that complement the lime.
Kiwi: Fresh fruit adds sweetness and bright green color.
Lime juice: Brings zesty acidity to balance the sweetness.
Jalapeño: Adds a spicy kick that can be adjusted for heat.
Ice: Blends everything into a slushy, refreshing texture.
Tajin or chile powder: Optional, for rimming the glass with a salty, spicy touch.
Lime: Used to moisten the rim of the glass and enhance flavor.

Serving Suggestions

With something savory: Enjoy these margaritas with Mexican shredded beef, taco stuffed sweet potatoes, beef taquitos, or some homemade ceviche. Another idea is your favorite chips with homemade tomato salsa or guacamole.
With dessert: Serve up Mexican style rice pudding or perhaps some Mexican un-fried ice cream to continue the south of the border vibe.

How to Store Kiwi Jalapeno Margaritas

Store: This drink will keep for a few days in the refrigerator. Mix it up again before serving.
Freeze: You can freeze it for weeks. I think I prefer to freeze it and serve it as a frozen margarita! It’s super refreshing.

Top Tips

Start with less jalapeño: You can always add more heat after tasting.
Use ripe kiwi: The sweeter the fruit, the better the flavor.
Chill the glass: Keep your drink colder and more refreshing by using a chilled glass.
Garnish ideas: Garnish with a kiwi or or jalapeño sliced lengthways.
Frozen vs. rocks: I find the frozen method has better consistency than serving it on the rocks.
Rim the glass: To rim it the glass, put the Tajin or chile powder in a small dish, wet half of the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and roll.
