Peanut Butter Cup Stuffed Oreo Ingredients

A complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Oreo cookies (Original or Double Stuf): Provides the classic Oreo flavor with a mix of crunchy chocolate cookies and sweet, creamy filling. Either variety works, but Double Stuf will add extra creaminess.
Reese’s peanut butter cups: Adds a rich, chocolatey peanut butter flavor. The smooth, creamy texture of the peanut butter cups complements the crunch of the Oreos.
Semi-sweet mini chocolate chips: Adds a deep, balanced chocolate flavor without being too sweet. The mini size melts evenly and is easy to mix in.
Coconut oil: Helps the chocolate chips melt smoothly and gives a glossy finish to the coating. Adds a little coconut flavor.
Peanut butter chips: Their creamy texture, when melted, binds ingredients together.

How to Make Peanut Butter Cup Stuffed Oreos

For more detailed instructions with weights and measurements, jump to the printable recipe card.

Prepare the cookies: Start by preparing a small cookie sheet and lining it with parchment paper. Crush 2 of the Oreos and set aside. Gently twist 6 of the Oreos apart. Sandwich one peanut butter cup in between the two halves of each Oreo.
Melt the chocolate: In a microwave safe dish, melt together the semisweet chocolate chips and the coconut oil.
Dunk the cookies: Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, use a fork to carefully dunk each of the Oreo Reese’s sandwiches into the chocolate. Gently tap the bottom of the fork, holding the dipped cookie against the edge of the bowl, to help the excess chocolate drip off (or gently shake them), then place the cookie onto the prepared parchment-lined cookie sheet.
When all the cookies have been dunked, let them cool completely until hard.
Melt the peanut butter chips: Melt them in the microwave, then spoon them into a piping bag fitted with a small open tip or without a tip, and just snip the end off. Pipe a spiral of the melted peanut butter chips onto the top of each cookie, then sprinkle with the crushed Oreo. Let harden before serving.

Substitutions and Variations

Oreo cookies: Any chocolate sandwich cookie can be used as a substitute. For a different flavor profile, try vanilla sandwich cookies or mint-flavored Oreos.
Nut-free option: Try caramel-filled chocolates or nougat bars for a nut-free variation.
Semi-sweet mini chocolate chips: Regular semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate chips can be used.
Dairy-free option: Use dairy-free chocolate chips for a lactose-free version.
Add-ins: Add chopped nuts like almonds, pecans, or hazelnuts for extra crunch and flavor. Use dried fruit like raisins, cranberries, or chopped dried apricots for a sweet and chewy contrast.

Appetizer: Start the meal with some fun sliders: pizza sliders, maple bacon turkey sliders, or these hot Italian sliders, which are all fun.
Main: Serve up an easy pasta as a main like this viral TikTok easy baked feta. Another one to try is my fiesta chicken casserole.

How to Store Reese’s Stuffed Oreos

Store: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. They can be served cold or at room temperature, but they are easier to eat closer to room temperature. They can be stored at room temperature for up to 5 days, keeping them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Freezer: To freeze the treats, layer them in an airtight container with parchment paper between each layer to prevent sticking. They will freeze for up to 3 months.
Thaw: When ready to eat, remove the treats from the freezer and let them thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight. Leave them at room temperature for about 30 to 60 minutes for quicker thawing until they reach the desired softness.
Reheat: If you prefer warm treats, you can reheat them in the microwave. Place a treat on a microwave-safe plate and heat for 10 to 15 seconds on medium power. Be cautious not to overheat, as the chocolate can melt too much and make the treat messy.

Top Tips

Steer clear of the foil-wrapped minis: Use the classic original-sized Reese’s, the wide and flat ones, not the tin foil-wrapped minis.
Carefully separate Oreos: Twist the Oreo cookies gently to separate the top and bottom halves without breaking them. A gentle sawing motion with a knife can also help.
Use a fork, not fingers, to dip: When dipping the stuffed Oreos into the melted chocolate, use a fork to lower them and lift them out. This allows excess chocolate to drip off easily and gives a more even coating.
Work on parchment paper: Place dipped Oreos on a paper-lined baking sheet to cool and set. This prevents sticking and makes for easy cleanup.
