While champagne can be made with chardonnay, pinot meunier and/or pinot noir, prosecco uses the glera grape, resulting in a different flavour. Also, while champagne gets yeast put in the bottles, prosecco has it added to the tanks prior to bottling. The two will taste different in the finished Thanksgiving punch, but champagne or cava (sparkling wine from Spain) would also work perfectly, if one of those is your preference.

Now if, on the other hand, you want more alcohol (hey, who’s judging, it’s Thanksgiving!) throw in ¾ cup of vodka or gin too!

Cranberry Orange Prosecco Punch
Ingredients
- 2 oranges, sliced, plus extra for garnish
- 1 lemon, sliced, plus extra for garnish
- ½ Cup cranberries, fresh, plus extra for garnish
- 3 Cups cranberry juice cocktail
- 1 Cup orange juice, pulp-free
- ¼ Cup grenadine, plus 2 tablespoons
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice, freshly-squeezed
- 1 Bottle prosecco, 750 mL, dry-leaning sparkling, such as Soledoro Prosecco Spumante Brut
- ice
- edible fall flowers, optional for garnish
Instructions
- Add slices from 1-2 oranges and 1 lemon, as well as ½ cup fresh cranberries, to a large pitcher. Over the fruit, pour cranberry juice cocktail, orange juice, grenadine, lemon juice, and the entire bottle of prosecco. Stir gently until all liquids have mixed.
- Add a slice or orange and a slice of lemon to a glass. Fill the glass with ice then top with several fresh cranberries. Pour punch over ice. Garnish with another orange slice and an edible fall flower of your choice, such as a Chrysanthemum.

Yes, that isn’t a problem.
I loved this. I had a bottle of Asti instead of Prosecco and that worked just fine.
