Freeze the White Claw: Pour into an ice cube tray (I love these silicon ice cube trays!) and freeze until solid.
Blend the ingredients: Combine frozen fruit, White Claw ice, agave and rum in a blender. Blend until smooth. Stop a few times and use a tamper or spatula to scrape down the sides of the blender to make sure everything is well mixed.
Garnish and serve: Pour into glasses and top with fresh garnishes.

Substitutions and Variations

Another flavor seltzer: Try lime, mango or black cherry White Claw for a twist.
Swap the fruit: Pineapple, mango or raspberries also work well.
Adjust sweetness: Add more or less agave nectar depending on your preference.
Make it a mocktail: Skip the rum and use a non-alcoholic seltzer for a refreshing virgin version.

With more fruit: Enjoy a watermelon feta cucumber salad or slice of strawberry Cool Whip pie.

How to Store Frozen White Claw Slushies

Store: These White Claw Slushies are best served immediately but they can be mixed, frozen and re-blended.
Freeze: You can freeze the slushie mixture for a few weeks, and serve frozen.

Top Tips

Freeze the seltzer flat: Freeze in a thin layer if you’re in a rush, to speed up the process.
Use fully frozen fruit: This keeps the texture thick and icy. Frozen strawberries are readily available in grocery stores, but frozen watermelon chunks can be more difficult to come by. To freeze your own, line up the fruit on a foil-lined baking sheet so that the pieces aren’t touching, then freeze overnight.
Taste before serving: Adjust sweetness or add more rum if desired.

Fruity Rum White Claw Slushie FAQs

What is White Claw?

This hard seltzer has been around since 2016 and there are different flavors to choose from. It’s made from seltzer water, an alcohol base and the fruit flavor. In the US it has a beer base while in Canada it’s made with a vodka base. The creator of this ready-to-drink adult beverage is a Canadian company and was also behind Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

What else can I make with White Claw?

There are other recipes you can make with White Claw as well as this slushy mixed drink. You might like to add a shot of vodka, gin or white rum to it plus some fruit juice or fruit pieces. It’s also delicious served by itself over ice, of course.

Is White Claw gluten free?

Yes, White Claw seltzers are naturally gluten free.

Can I use fresh fruit instead of frozen?

You could, although then you’d need to add ice cubes which would dilute the drink.
