Orange Dreamsicle Martini Ingredients
Clementine juice, which is best freshly-squeezed, teams up with whipped cream flavoured vodka and triple sec to make this summer martini recipe. You could use regular orange juice if you can’t get clementines but the fresher it is the better the cocktail will taste.
There are different brands of whipped cream flavoured vodka and triple sec to choose from. Smirnoff make a great whipped cream vodka and DeKuyper make a good triple sec. But you can use any brand here.
You will also need some ice. The garnishes for the summer cocktail are your choice. Some fresh clementine in a wheel, slice or wedge works as a garnish and you could also add some edible flowers perhaps, if you want to make it extra-fancy!
How to Make a Clementine Creamsicle Martini
Not only does this orange dreamsicle martini call for just a few ingredients but it’s quick and simple to prepare too. What’s not to love! You will need to half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Next add the clementine juice. After that, add the whipped cream flavoured vodka and triple sec.
Now make sure the lid is on securely and then give the summer cocktail a good shake until it’s thoroughly chilled. Pour the chilled mixture into a glass and enjoy.
Tweaks and Variations
As it stands, the recipe is great for those who love a creamy flavour but might not necessarily want dairy in their cocktails. If you don’t have whipped vodka and want the creamy flavour, you might like to use plain vodka and add some cream liqueur such as RumChata or Irish Cream.
Another variation is using orange soda instead of clementine juice. This results in a much sweeter drink so you might want to reduce or leave out the triple sec since that is also very sweet.
Ideas for the Garnish
You don’t have to garnish this summer martini recipe if you don’t want. However, some fresh clementine and edible flowers look so cute. You can poke the stems of the flowers through the slice of clementine to hold them in place. If you prefer another type of garnish, go with that. Get creative with it and have fun!
This cocktail features a color-coordinated Marigold and a Zinnia. To create the garnish, I simply pierced a hole through the clementine wheel with the flower stems and snipped off the excess poking through the back.
Clementines vs Oranges: What’s the Difference?
Clementines are brighter than oranges and smaller. They have a smooth skin and a sweeter flavour than oranges. Oranges are a pomelo-mandarin hybrid while clementines are a mandarin-orange hybrid.
Tangerines are similar to clementines but clementines are sweeter. You can use orange, tangerine or clementine juice in this clementine martini. They all taste pretty similar.

This is completely up to you. You can include the pulp from the citrus if you want to, or strain it if not with a cheesecloth or fine-mesh sieve. You can always sub readymade juice from the grocery store instead of juicing your own fruit.
Yes you can prepare it ahead if you want. Just keep it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for a day or two, then shake it well before serving. I’d prepare it without the ice and then either shake it with ice before serving or serve it chilled from the refrigerator if that’s cold enough for you. If you’re looking for another way to cool down this summer, you might want to consider homemade ice cream too!
It’s an orange liqueur which comes from France. This liqueur is rarely drunk neat as a shot but it’s a popular additive to various cocktail recipes and it’s also an ingredient in flambéed pancakes.
