These delicious mango yogurt mousse desserts are sweet and fruity. They make a wonderful light dessert after any kind of main dish.

Also try mango salsa, vanilla bundt cakes with chocolate eggs or what about these cute salted caramel heart snickerdoodles?

This Greek yogurt fruit pudding dessert is based on yogurt. Use your choice of Greek yogurt, plain yogurt or even a dairy-free option if you prefer. Flavored yogurt is also good although bear in mind that can add extra sugar and calories to this otherwise healthy dessert for kids.

My favourite part of this mango yogurt dessert is the fresh mango. I just love the flavour of mango – there isn’t another fruit quite like it! Use thawed mango pieces if you have those but I would encourage you to go with fresh. It’s just so sweet and juicy!

A teaspoon of vanilla extract is also tasty in this mango yogurt mousse. If you like you can just use those ingredients but you might also like to add some coconut cream to the mix or some honey or agave syrup for sweetness.

How to Prepare this Mango Yogurt Dessert

This dessert is really easy to make and that’s one thing that’s great about this healthy mango mousse recipe. Simply add the ingredients to a blender and puree them together. You can then divide the mixture between serving glasses and just refrigerate until ready.

I like to garnish mine with whipped cream and I might add an edible flower to each if I’m feeling fancy! Fresh mint would also make a nice, contrasting garnish for this mango yogurt mousse. Serve it at breakfast along with another dish such as Bombay toast or egg bites.

If you just want a healthy dessert for kids, you can serve the Greek yogurt fruit pudding dessert as it is. If you’re making this because you have company coming for dinner, go all out with the edible flowers! They will look so pretty.

Mango Yogurt Mousse Benefits

Mango isn’t only sweet and delicious but it’s also nutritious. This fruit is low in calories but rich in fibre. There is plenty of Vitamins A and C in every bite, along with calcium, zinc, Vitamin E, folate, and Vitamin B6 in smaller amounts. Mangoes are rich in antioxidants and just 3 ounces of this fruit gives you one of your five-a-day.

Now mango isn’t the only healthy ingredient in this mango yogurt dessert. The yogurt is also a healthy choice. Whether you are using Greek style yogurt here or another type, yogurt offers calcium, B vitamins, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus.

In short, yogurt provides a wide range of nutrients which are great for you. It’s a protein-rich food which is satisfying and it’s also believed beneficial for heart health.

Do bear in mind that some types of yogurt are pretty high in sugar, especially ones labeled as low-fat. I prefer to use plain Greek yogurt because the mango adds sweetness to the dessert. And if not, then I can easily add honey or another sweetener to get the balance just right.

Variations of this Healthy Mango Mousse Recipe

Whether you’re looking for a healthy dessert for kids or something light to serve as a dinner party dessert, this mango yogurt mousse is a winner.

There are ways to adapt the recipe as well if you want to tweak it a little. You can change any component of this Greek yogurt fruit pudding dessert you like. Switch the mangos for peaches or apricots or the Greek yogurt for your preferred dairy-free yogurt.

Sub coconut or orange extract for the vanilla, or add a pinch of sugar or artificial sweetener. Even the garnish can be changed. Sprinkle some orange zest on top or drizzle some berry compote over the dessert. You can literally tailor this easy mango yogurt dessert to your exact requirements! Keep the ratio of fruit and yogurt the same and you can experiment to your heart’s content.

If you are a fan of mango yogurt, you may want to also try out a mango lassi, which is a tasty Indian yogurt drink.

How to Store this Mango Mousse Recipe

Keep this mango yogurt mousse refrigerated until serving. I like to make it at least a couple of hours ahead so it’s well-chilled when it’s time to serve. It will keep for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.

You can freeze it for up to 2 months in an airtight container and that won’t affect the nutrients in there. However, expect it to separate a little bit when thawed out. Because this Greek yogurt fruit pudding dessert is so easy to make, I prefer to make it fresh each time. It really only takes a few minutes to prepare.
